Has Obama's charisma deserted him?
Telegraph Blogs (U.K.) ^ | November 26, 2009 | Alex Spillius

In my interview with Obama’s 2008 campaign manager David Plouffe, he draws comparisons between the down days of Obama’s bid in mid 2007 and controversies such as Rev Wright and the difficulties of his first year. The lesson, he says, is that stay true to the message and the strategy and you shall prevail. A campaign is very different from running the country however as it has one goal. Mr Obama has several, even if they share common themes.

His performance of the last few months has however reminded me of the campaign in another way than Plouffe meant. Like the first six months of 2007, as Plouffe’s book The Audacity to Win acknowledges, the candidate was flat, uninspired and too professorial.

The same is true now. The president is not connecting with voters on the economy and doesn’t speak about the mission in Afghanistan with the required conviction. His advisers, unlike the campaign, aren’t full of smart ideas. Maureen Dowd says he is like a cold shower compared to the warm bath of Bill Clinton. Politico’s Arena asks where his charisma has gone.

Perhaps this is no more than too much too soon, and perhaps the sparkle will return. For America’s sake, it needs to.

Has Obama’s charisma deserted him?

He never had it. It was all media generated hype. They kept repeating ,"oh he's so charismatic.", and the sheeple bought it. Repeat a lie often enough and it becomes the truth. I think with the economy continuing to tank people are starting to wake up from their media induced trance. Fox and talk radio's ratings are through the roof and the Bamsters numbers are tumbling.

Keep the pressure up on your congresscritters. We need to run out the clock to 2010 on these marxist power grabs.

Candidate Obama was a blank screen onto which voters projected whatever they wanted him to be.

Correct answer. In other words, a Rorschach test.

The only reason he was thought to have "charisma", whatever that is, is because the MSM constantly repeated that he did.

The majority of American non-entities ran with it rather than think for themselves.

He is, and has always been, at best, dull and, at worst, incoherent.

Obama has been outed by the “Peter Principle”.

“He has certainly reached his level of Incompetency”

some months ago.

And Does It Show.

There never was any charisma about him. Just a little shine from the drool of the media worshipers—which mighta’ confused some people into thinking he had charisma.

SFAIC, he’s stiff, petulant, pompous & boring.

"He is, and has always been, at best, dull and, at worst, incoherent."

Connect the dots - without his autocue he is nothing. A street level rabble rousing dolt who has proved Peter's Principle utterly wrong. This guy has vaulted himself so far beyond his level of competence that he is floating on air - Hot Air.

President Obama is just another tired politician (and a Commie at that) who cannot possibly fulfill all those varied expectations.

You give him way too much credit.

Obama is an empty Marxist who can't fulfill ANY of those expectations.

He only brings us CHANGE YOU CAN STEP IN.

"Warm bath of Clinton"

Clinton was an opportunist not an ideologue like Obama. Slick Willy loved the perks and power of the presidency a lot more than he liked liberal ideology. Clinton knew liberalism was bunk and tacked right when it became obvious the liberal guidebook was failing. Obama does not know how to tack right since he firmly believes in the god of leftism. We'll see how smart the Great Spreader is. I'll bet there's no lack of people in the Dummy Party who would like to rearrange his brain.

A rohrshack candidate indeed - vapid and empty, but a nice fashion accessory.

All fine and good for a while, but in the end people would like a little depth and start wondering “what is he going to do for me?” It’s all give give give with no return.

Bad friend, bad boyfriend, lousy accessory, failed President.

Has Obama's charisma deserted him?

He only has / had charisma that worked on the weak-minded, and now his arrogance and ignorance are over-powering even that.
