Former Vice President Dick Cheney chose not to run for president in 2008 but his daughter suggested that he might be a good candidate in 2012. Appearing on Fox News Sunday, Liz Cheney dropped the former vice president's name as the panel was discussing President Barack Obama's decision to respect the Japanese Emperor by bowing during a formal greeting.
Fox News felt compelled to cover Obama bow to Japanese Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko after conservative blogs attacked the president. "Sarah Palin would not have bowed to the Emperor of Japan. She wouldn't have even curtsied to him," said Bill Kristol.
But for Liz Cheney, Palin wasn't the only answer to replacing a president that would dare to pay respect to a foreign leader. "You can look at the comparison and think Cheney 2012," teased Cheney. It wasn't clear if Dick Cheney's daughter was joking but the Fox panel seemed warm to the idea.
"That's all I'm going to say," she said.
Kristol, who has long been an advocate for Sarah Palin, had an even better idea. "Cheney/Palin," he suggested.
"Or Palin/Cheney. Don't be sexist," replied Chris Wallace.

In that case, there will be four more years of the Obamanation. It’s only been one year and I have had more than enough of this joker.
Who said anything about Dick Cheney?
She didn’t say Dick Cheney......
No! Cheney is too boring, too old, and still has questions about his heart. Stop picking conservatives who will put too many of the general public to sleep, and never mind what the MSM will continuously do to Cheney, if he ever did officially decide to run for POTUS!
If she's talking about herself then she does have delusions of grandeur.
She didn’t specify *which* Cheney!
And as much as I respect Dick Cheney, he’s not electable. It would be handing BHO a second term.
“She didnt say Dick Cheney......”
My thoughts exactly...we already have a Dick-less White House, anyway...
She have said a few times that she may be interested in running for office in the future, but not at this time. Srah Palin/Liz Cheney
maybe the Lesbian Cheney?
BTW, you are dumb.
The first Female,Lesbian,Republican President of the United States of America... The liberals would be spitting venom over that one...
Liz is not a lez. That’s her sister Mary.
I’d be surprised if he ran, but would love to see it. Only concern is that it brings back some anti-Bush/Cheney feelings at least early in the campaign, where I would like to see some new faces. I imagine Cheney would handle his differences with Bush quite handily, and would win over a lot of people. Still, I would be shocked to see it.
I assumed they were talking about Dick, based on Wallace’s “don’t be sexist” statement.
Yes he does.
I’d be thrilled to see Dick Cheney as President, but I worry that he isn’t electable. Maybe he can learn to do the cheerleading, sound bite-emitting act that seems to be required of political candidates in our times, but it won’t come easily to him. Of course, maybe after 4 years of President Obama, Americans voters will be hankering for anyone who seems like the exact opposite of Obama, in which case Cheney fits the bill perfectly just being himself.
