Besides addressing her views on the McCain campaign and the media, Palin, a passionate Alaskan hunter, takes aim at vegetarians. Palin states, “If any vegans came over for dinner, I could whip them up a salad, then explain my philosophy on being a carnivore: If God had not intended for us to eat animals, how come He made them out of meat?”

Can you not separate the big from the little?

I am happy for folks to have all the fun in the world, but I don't get the sense that that is what folks are doing here.

So there’s no difference between eating a chimp and eating a mushroom? what about eating humans?

I wouldn't eat prize flowers, pets, or humans. Wouldn't eat chimps if they were pets. Buy if the chimp wasn't a pet, it'd be OK. I know people who served overseas and ate monkey meat... I've eaten rattlesnake and alligator. Are you one of those "bad hunters"?

I went vegetarian in college for a semester, as the dorm had a great salad bar, but the meat was, shall we say, suspect.

There are different kinds of vegetarians. Some do it for health reasons; others do it as a political statement, and some do it to attract attention to themselves. The first kind aren’t a problem. The one you have in your office is doing it as a way to say, “HEY! Look at me!!!!!” If the food is that big a deal, he should bring his own.

I try not to let anyone know about this preference of mine!

You go Girl!! Tell everyone it is your preference not to eat meat and don’t let anyone tell you that what you like to eat is wrong!!

And I will also speak my preference, but mine is the opposite choice. I love meat...

“Appears we have another & relatively new liberal troll....
JNRoberts - Since Nov 5, 2008”

Not everone with an eccentric opinion is a Liberal troll.

JN, you face a painful choice: it’s either the arugula-loving alien muslim communist, or the conservative carnivore from Alaska. Eat your vegies and think it over carefully. If I could campaign for that RINO idiot McCain, you can give Sarah a pass on her diet.

I don’t know what you mean by “bad hunter”.

I think the bible is a good place to start when deciding what NOT to eat.

fish OK
fowl OK
grazing mammals that chew their cud OK

Unwise to eat the flesh of a flesh eater.

Cold blooded animals are safer to eat than warm blooded animals

grass eaters are safer to eat than nut and berry eaters.

nut and berry eaters are safer than insectivores and omnivores.

insectivores/omnivores are safer to eat than carnivores.

carnivores that eat cold blooded animals are safer to eat than carnivores that eat warm blooded animals.

If you are going to eliminate certain creatures as food sources, you would be wise to eliminate raptors and cats first.(well, do I need to mention people?) Then, dog, bear, dolphin/tooth whales, weasels, and pigs.

These are common sense safety measures. Then there are philosophical ideas as well...such as refraining from eating intelligent creatures such as primates, corvids, elephants, and parrots. Another philosophical argument would be to only eat very large animals because the sacrifice of one life feeds many. Or to eat something that naturally has a very short life span.

the ideal meat to eat would be some kind of gigant-enormous cold blooded fish/reptile that eats only grass, algae, lichen, or fungus...and dies of old age after only one or two years of life.

I personally have chosen to eat only fish and fowl.

Man was slaying and eating animals right after The Original Sin. Adam and Eve were clothed in skins per the Lord, and Abel offered an animal sacrifice to the Lord. Way before the Flood. It is you who needs the Bible study.

We have a vegetarian in our office, and accomodating him for meetings is a big pain in the butt for the caterers - nothing is good enough for his “special” tray. Once they only brought steamed vegetables for him - HOW SILLY IS THAT, to bring veggies for a vegetarian? He scoffed at them as if they were the most ignorant people in the world. Screw him.

A close relative, militant far leftist that she is, will routinely walk into restaurants and ask the waitress, in a voice just loud enough for everyone to hear her, "Excuse me, I'm a vegetarian. Do you have anything here that I can eat?"

My opinion of the majority of vegetarians is that they could care less about the eating of meat and (humane) killing of animals for meat. They just want something to feel superior to other people about.

That’s the idea I get about this guy. In fact one time we had another vegetarian and the caterer combined their food in one container labeled “2 veg” - this guy took the whole thing instead of taking a serving. It’s all about HIM. Luckily the other guy didn’t show.

I personally don’t eat beef, and try to keep my poultry and fish kosher.

Sarah can surely eat what she wants, but I’d advise a little less fat for her family’s hearts and arteries sake.

"Cain and Abel were offering grain and flesh sacrifices, respectively, starting at generation #2. Abel’s sacrifice was unacceptable to God not because it was flesh, but because Abel held back the best animals for himself."

Gen 4:4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering;

"C’mon, what Bible are you getting that theology from?"

Animals were not killing other animals before the fall of man....that is before Sin. After the fall of man, which God did not intend...everything changed.....and has degenerated since then.

Either you believe the Bible or you don’t.....and in Eden...God’s intent and creation is perfect. No death, no eating dead animals, no animals killing other animals.....Please....read the Bible.

Actually, meat is what causes gas to stink. Meat has sulfides. That’s why people who eat lots of meat...well...they have more offensive gas and feces. Deal with it.....it is called Sulfides.....

God is perfect in all his ways.....sorry.

It was a joke,,,, lighten up. And you are right. God’s intentions for us involved perfection in the Garden. But He also knew we would fall, and made provision for that.
