Berkley Slams Door in Veterans Face
(NN&V staff report) Decorated Desert Storm Veteran and Clark County resident Steve Sanson said he had a door slammed in his face by Rep. Shelley Berkley, D-Nev., during a trip to Washington, DC, today as part of a Vets for Freedom event.
Sanson and several other Las Vegas area veterans, including retired Air Force Col. Ed Bridges, were making the rounds of Nevadas Congressional delegation when the incident occurred.
Bridges, a candidate for the Congressional Seat 3 seat now held by Rep. Dina Titus, D-Las Vegas, said the group was warmly greeted by Titus and other members of the Nevada delegation.
But Sanson, a constituent who had gone to visit Berkley in her Capitol Hill office with part of the Las Vegas group, said the treatment there was much different. While in her outer office, Sanson said Berkley came out and refused to speak or make eye contact with him, speaking instead to Terri Dunn, president of Republican Women of Henderson, who was also on the trip.
When Sanson said he brought up the subject of the veterans hospital, Berkley commented that he should have been civil enough to speak with her in Las Vegas. Sanson said she then suggested he make an appointment to meet with her in Las Vegas.
When Sanson said he asked about making such an appointment, Berkley replied, I think not, and slammed her private office door behind her, leaving Sanson and others standing in the outer office.
Efforts to reach Berkleys staff for comment on the incident were unsuccessful.
Sanson said the animosity may stem from the fact that a group he is affiliated with, Veterans in Politics, had endorsed her GOP opponent in a previous reelection bid. Sanson said he has never been uncivil to Berkley. Sanson said he was visiting today on issues as a representative of Vets for Freedom, and that Berkleys behavior was inappropriate.
I feel that she acted immature, he said. She didnt act like a representative of the public.
A spokesperson for Congresswoman Berkley declined to comment on the incident.
Another “bipartisan” Dem in the mold of their rancid leader, Nancy Pelosi.
These same dems actually claim they “support the troops” with a straight face.
On the night of March 18, anti-military radical protesters smashed the windows of the embattled Marines Recruiiting Office in Berkeley: "Windows were smashed and red paint was splashed Wednesday night on the Marine Corps recruiting center, which has been the target of protests for the past 18 months. The incident, which came on the eve of the sixth anniversary of the Iraq war, was caught on tape by a surveillance camera about 8:55 p.m. at the center in downtown Berkeley, police said. Police have not made any arrests but are reviewing the tape, Sgt. Mary Kusmiss said. Police found a sledgehammer and a crowbar in a nearby garbage can that they are reviewing as evidence. After breaking windows and defacing the Marine Corps logo at the center, the half-dozen vandals wearing dark clothing scattered in three different directions, police said. The suspects faces were covered, police said..."

Berkeley is an anti-American cesspool of Liberals.
I’m calling this b*tch.
I hope she gets gonorrhea and rots in hell
The staffer said they didn’t know anything about this..
BTW, whenever you meet someone from there, be sure and mention nuclear weapons were invented largely at UC Berkeley...that should make their head 'splode. lol
Tell me where to send the check..
what a stupid move! How many vets do we have? An insult to them all, not to mention those serving.
So am I.
In this case Berkley is a person and not a place.
She represents Nevada’s 1st District. This is Las Vegas. It is heavily blue and probably she has little to worry about.
She might have a little MORE to worry about if LV unemployment is still hovering around 14 percent like it is now.
Do these eyebrows make me look better?
“I think not.”
SEIU will crack heads for her.
Berkeley should secede from America.
Not likely. Not EVERYONE in that town belongs to that union. Not yet, anyway. Besides, as long as the economy sucks, I vote with my wallet, which is why I haven’t been to LV in 18 months—probably the longest stretch in 15 years.
