My limited experience with the general nature of illegal alien mentality leads me to believe that even if a no-questions-asked blanket amnesty was given, relatively few would even walk across the street to pick up their documents.

This “pathway to citizenship” nonsense is just code for amnesty.

It really is just this simple.

“There are some on FR supporting Libertarians who are open border, you might want to check in with them and knock off
the PDS”

Even Milton Friedman understood as a libertarian that the U.S. could not withstand an open border policy because this country is a magnet because it is also a welfare state. We cannot possibly have open borders.

I am glad the border here is more secure than other areas of the U.S. BUT

for some time now including different times this week,
the illegals are coming by boat at least 20+ at a time.
They land at night on one of the many beaches here. They only have to go 10 to 20 miles and unload.

The Coast Guard, etc. are rounding them up but some still get through.

I don’t care who runs the show, as much as I would like to see the over 12 millions illegals rounded up.
This won’t happen. To have tens of thousands of people
going through each state for a few years or more to locate the illegals while more come in, the MSM will turn this into street riots along with the liberals pols.

I have seen over 50,000 Mexicans marching down the street
a few yrs. ago with their Marxist signs and Mexican flags.

In theory is one thing, reality is another.
If it was 20 years ago, it might be somewhat doable.
Not now.

“There is already a pathway to citizenship, people use it every day.”

THANK YOU!

And if it was good enough for my grandparents and everyone else ancestors, it oughta be good enough for today's foreiginers.

Go home & "get in line!"

“This is the same set of pre-election interviews done in 2008. She was trying to parrot McCain as she was his running mate. Every month someone on this site comes up with a reference to these McCain influenced interviews and ignores everything she has said since she has been on her own.”

.....”ignores everything she has said since she has been on her own.”

Like what.... the ONE statement about driver’s licences? She said what she said in that interview with Univision..supports amnesty, does not support deportation (the law!) or workplace raids. WHY is she avoiding the subject? Maybe hoping amnesty will pass before she has to state a position? And since then, she’s contributed to the McCain & Graham campaigns, which shows the wrong position.

She needs to get clear on this issue now, not after amnesty passes. She has no problem speaking out on everything else.

Another curious thing about this....many of Palin’s biggest supporters are open border/amnesty GOP faithfuls who INSIST she is NOT for amnesty (with nothing to back them up)who call anyone wanting the law enforced a ‘xenophobe’.

And here is the interview...HER words, not anyone else’s.

PALIN: “. We - our policy - John McCain has been so clear with his policy and it makes a lot of sense too. We secure our borders first. But then with a comprehensive approach we must deal humanely with those who are here, and we must allow the steps to be taken to protect the families of those who are here, maybe as illegal immigrants today.....”

UNIVISION: “Talking about - still with immigration - ICE has arrested and deported almost five thousand undocumented immigrants in the last year, separated many Hispanic families. Would you support stopping these raids until comprehensive immigration reform could be passed in Congress?”

Palin: “Well, the unfortunate thing of course about the raids is that it does affect the families involved here. Parents and children are separated and that’s tragic.” (No, that is by choice of the alien, Sarah - they can take their kids and we pay for it!)

“Univision: To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
Sarah Palin: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America.”
Univision: As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?
Sarah Palin: There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant - there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants - not only economically is that just an impossibility but that’s not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.”

“stfuhunterites”

Real nice key word there, to whoever put it in the list.

This just proves that the Squatter Support Squad of FR is alive and well and supports Sarah because they believe she supports yet another amnesty. This is NOT about Duncan Hunter...we KNOW his views, much to the dismay of the open border crowd and he’s NOT a 2012 hopeful, so stuff it. This is about Sarah Palin, and it’s time for freepers who support amnesty and the invasion of this country turning it into just another 3rd world hell hole to just come out and admit it.

Yes, and there will be millions of people supporting Palin, not knowing what her position on this issue is,as they ‘hope’ she gets it right, just like they blindly supported McCAin and downplayed his pushing amnesty.

From her own statements about amnesty since the election, she has shown me she thinks like me. No amnesty to people who come here illegally.

Anyone who wants to know more should either go to Team Sarah and ask there or go to Facebook and ask her there. Instead of passing around year old McCain influenced Univision interviews every month as if it was news. These articles make an appearance everytime Sarah gets credit for something. Someone’s scared to death of her and those easily scared off seem to have no desire to check with actual sources.

WHAT statements? Show us. We’ve seen that one about not giving them licenses. Show us something else, because no one else can find them. I have, as many others have, contacted her in anyway possible to clarify this. She avoids it. WHY?

I supported this woman as strongly as anyone did and will again if she gets right on this issue. It’s her ball game...where is she?

Does anyone have an answer to that question?

No, I really don't know where she stands on immigration, but I do know where she plans to go on her book tour...

I seriously doubt she is for rounding up a million or so people to send a message to the rest.

How do you keep those illegals from doing just that? A mass database?

Whatever it is, it doesn’t sound encouraging. It sure doesn’t sound like she’s all that different from the crowd we already have, who have forced de facto amnesty on us by not deporting illegals.

I agree. Even the libs don't say they support amnesty because that's a word with a negative connotation. So they come up with every other way imaginable to describe what is obviously amnesty.

I sure wish she would come right out and say what she means on this. I'd love to be able to seperate her from McCain, even though she ran with him. She, above all, needs to tell us how she is different from McAmnesty or she will lose in 2012. The public didn't like him and she is remembered most by those that aren't on FR by being partnered with him.

This interview has been posted here quite a few times already on lots of threads. It was conducted what..a week or so before the elections last year, and had to reflect the top of the ticket's (amnesty Juan McCain's) views on the matter.

Thanks for cleaning this up. I remembered her saying this vague statement during the election - and was hoping it was because she couldn't deviate from McAmnesty's stance much - but didn't want to outright support it either.

Now - or sometime soon - is the time for her to make her views more clear. So we know if she's our candidate or not.

That COULD go either way...either they have to go home first, or they don't.

I think they both have to go home - and stay there. And go to the back of the line of all the other people that have applied to get into the US legally. And if they don't stay in their country, then they don't get to come here legally at all. This playing games with touching back and getting ahead of all those that have the character to obey our laws won't fly with me. That's just amnesty by another name.

First, I don't think you are aware of what the touchback scam entailed. Essentially, the illegals were supposed to go away for a weekend to their home country, go through processing stations, and return to the US. They were registering in the US prior to going back home and their US employers would be waiting for them to come back. So yes, there would be a database.

For those who would go back and actually get in line outside of any touchback scheme, it would be difficult to track them unless they appeared in a US database, e.g., prison/police records that could be checked upon applying for entry into the US as part of the security check.

As someone who has actually issued visas overseas to enter the US, most of the illegal aliens in the US wouldn't be eligible to receive a tourist visa let alone an immigrant visa. FYI: There are over 3 million intending immigrants overseas who have completed all of their paperwork and are awaiting their turn to enter the US under the various immigration categories. Can you imagine adding another 12 to 20 million to those numbers? We take in 1.2 million legal immigrants a year now.
