My mother works at the Red Cross, and she liked the Don't Tread On Me stickers I made. She decided to take a couple of them to work and show them to a couple of her co-workers. When she did, one of the African Americans at her job, stood up and started shouting and calling her a racist. He yelled "We love Obama and you are racist!" My mother has never had a racist bone in her body, she is a good women who works hard and just believes our Country is going down the wrong path, and is proud of her son for standing up against it.
The day after this incident, HR came in and asked her to show them the sticker. They said "You don't think this is racist?" She came over to my house yesterday in tears and told me she had to take the sticker off her car, and couldn't take any of them to her job. I was outraged and wanted her to put the stickers all over her car and park next to this guy tomorrow. She is worried she will lose her job. Since she is a single women and doesn't make much money, she fears standing up for her Freedom of Speech. What has this Country come to?
Please visit my site and post your comments. My mother follows my site and needs the encouragement. Thank you for your support

It’s not that unusual for places of employment to not let employees bring in bumper stickers, wear certain t-shirts, etc.; but the guy there obviously was way over the top. I don’t know how they could make her take a bumper sticker off her car, especially if she could park it off company property. I think talking to a lawyer now would be a good idea. Seems stupid, I know, but that’s how you have to play with some of the libtards.
What is the meaning of ‘Don’t Tread On Me’? Those Flags and Rattlesnake?
It describes the qualities of the U.S. to those of the American rattlesnake -
Penned by Benjamin Franklin in 1775.
‘She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is
therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage. ... she never wounds
‘till she has generously given notice, even to her enemy, and cautioned him
against the danger of treading on her.”
Sounds like she should use the practice of that flag. Don’t tread on her!
I know. You can beat up on me. I’m still a newbie, right? Will that work? I promise to take it personally and whine to the mods that you’re picking on me. :)
Check this out if you haven’t seen it.

I would have to say, it depends.
Is the parking lot company property?
I have worked at places where employees parked in public parking lots or on the street. And places where the parking lot is company property.
Once on company property, the company can rightfully dictate that which is acceptable on their property.
Don't like it? Quit your job. Don't like a companies policies? Don't do business with them.
I work for a credit union and my wife for a bank. Should it be acceptable for her to put up a sun shade under her windshield with my employer (a direct competitor of her employer) while she is parked in the banks parking lot?
If her boss came to her and told her to take it down, I would side with her boss.
Show us the stickers you’re talking about.
Have her tell the guy she is a big Metallica fan and their song Don’t Tread on Me is her favorite.
I am a newbie and I am not sure how to post the sticker, but here is the link

Welcome to Free Republic.
You may want to ease up on posting too many threads relating to your own website/blog. Many don’t like that...
Might I sugguest, joining in other conversations and discussions for a while before posting your own threads.
Good luck. ;)
I try to join conversations. I actually found some good stuff here yesterday that I re-posted on MyFreePress. Also it isn’t my Blog, it is multiple people who post on my blog, not just me. It is a place for people to report the news the way they see it.
Thank you very much for getting the sticker on here :) Wasn’t sure how to do that.
Thank you very much Buckeye :) I love you guys!
It’s Congress that shall not abridge speech; organizations can and do.
Your story sounds interesting but THIS site is for commenting on the stories posted.
Pulling traffic off of Free Republic to bolster a blog or other website is viewed here as "blog pimping" and is against forum rules and considered very poor form indeed.
You'll have more success here, I think, if you share your stories and post your comments here as well as your blog. Then your motives won't be questioned and interested FReepers can still choose to visit your site if they want to.
OK? Your comment on this is appreciated. :0)
Here’s an idea ...
If she’s allowed to have pictures of family at/on her desk, then have her put up a picture of you wearing a “Don’t Tread on Me” t-shirt. What are they gonna say? Take down that picture of your son?
Then the complainers cannot be allowed to call her a racist in front of anybody or to express any verbal support for der fuherer. Go after them for their comments.
Normally I don’t mention posting a comment on my site, I just know my mom will get home today and check the site. I will try to be a little more careful about my postings. Sorry.
Yes. Let us not forget, back in the 90's precedent was set on this. A college professor was 'convicted' of sexual harrasment because a female student complained of a picture he had on his desk in his office.
What was this picture?
His wife in a bikini.
Sheesh! You’re kidding. It figures. Freaking liberals.
