A powerful early winter season storm is spinning up across the 4-corners with a surface low across southeast Colorado. The surface system will gradually lift north-northeastward through Saturday while the upper level support will be slowly track eastward into the lower Mississippi Valley. What does this mean?

Denver is suppose to get about 18 inchs.

A friend in Denver (Westminster) called me, said there is over a foot of snow at her house now and still coming down like crazy. Get out the skis.

The snow’s late on the Range. It’s also warmer and mushier than usual and will probably melt too quickly to serve as a good base. It will probably even melt quickly on the Pass (well over 11,000 feet) that I drive over from home (middle of nowhere) for supplies.
But back country snowboarding will be good soon enough. ;-)
Snow flurries continue in Sedona, AZ right now. We are at 4,500 feet altitude, and it is supposed to be 41 degrees. I guess Flagstaff is getting dumped on. (5,700 ft)
Sorry - my mistake. Flagstaff, AZ is close to 7,000 ft. altitude.
Yep, I expect to be shoveling two feet of global warming off my sidewalks tomorrow.
