NOTE: The following blog entry is a quote:

Blog Details Iranian Hacker: We Work in Cooperation with the Regime

Behrouz Kamalian, head of a 15-member Iranian hacker group called "Ashyaneh," stated that the group works in cooperation with most of the government and military organizations in Iran, and that during the Israeli attack on Gaza and on 'Qods Day' (September 18, 2009), the group hacked 1,500 Israeli websites, as well as hundreds of Danish websites in retaliation for insulting the Prophet Muhammad.

SolidWood speaks Farsi (is that right? lol - see #4)

I can read it but I don’t really know enough to translate much without the help of Google ;)

Hey that’s great Solid Wood and thanks G8 Diplomat.

What I’m looking for on the irna.ir is the original source url for this hacker’s claim.

It would be on the October 17th edition apparently or IRNA (and a translation of the article would be great, but I got the Google translator link to use if I could only find the source url).

Thanks in advance Solid Wood.

Just FYI I searched the IRNA archives for words that might apply to this article like “Behruz,” “Kamalian,” “Ashyaneh,” “hacker”...and ran the first few sentences of each article through Google’s Persian translator. I found nothing that looked like it pertains to this story. I got a bunch of stuff for Behruz, but it all applied to either a governor or a film director with the same name. Ashyaneh & Kamalian appeared to be last names of different people not involved in this story. Got nothing for “hacker.” Today’s date on the Persian calendar appeared to be 7/28/1388 so I set it to 7/25/1388 which would be Oct. 17. Still got nothing. Hopefully SolidWood can do a better job!

Well thank you for trying G8 Diplomat.

I know I checked a few blogs and site and the entry seemed to be skipped or missing.

Memri is a good source, but I want that original url even if it’s in Google cache.

Agains THANKS for your efforts.

It seems too simple that there is a Iranian forum named ashiyane. The forum was linked from an Iranian website named ashiyane that was supposedly for computer security systems.

I ran the forum through systran software and it is all about hacking, computer worms, etc. That would make sense for a computer security systems forum but there was one thread that seemed to be about how to place worms. I'm no computer whiz so I could have been reading it wrong.

There is a poster by the name of Behrouz, but, in Iran that name could be as common as Bob, I don't know. My computer started acting a bit squirrely so I got out of there.

I speak Farsi and took a look too but it's as was said, a site to download hacker software of various kinds. Do it yourself.

The IRNA site does not come up for me, probably a mutual block.

Regardless, the Ashyaneh site (which basically means an aircraft hangar) is the site to pass on, IRNA is the official Islamic Regime news agency and not an active player in this matter, just reporting. The Ashyaneh site is the target.

Lots of fluent Farsi speakers in Israel and among our own IT ranks.

I'd have to look it up again but I bet I know the location from which they operate. Alan posted an exclusive maybe six months of longer ago which gave the location of a SEVERAL THOUSAND computer communications site hiding under ground in the poor part of South West Tehran. Sarsabil if I remember right

The area is covered by small, poor dwellings, brick and adobe but surprisingly they have strategically placed snipers concealed on the roof tops 24/7. All people passing through the neighborhood are scrutinized and watched.

Close to a military industrial site built by the late Shah, Alan posted the street name. You can probably find it on AntiMullah by searching for Sarsabil. I think it is the only article with that name in it.

The entrance to this huge underground (what could be termed a hangar) is through a small barber shop.

At the far end there is a smallish wooden door covered by a curtain. Looking like a door to a small room or even a walk in cupboard.

BUT..... once through it you enter a huge artificially created basement running for hundreds of yards under the homes above.

A multitude of technicians, who reportedly monitor and control all communications inside and around Tehran, parts of Iran and possibly to and from overseas work there 24/7.

Satellite imagery could easily pinpoint this and eventually someone could put a huge dent into the operations going on there.

I understand FARS, but what I would really like is the url of the IRNA article regarding the hacker.

As for the rest of your post — it’s interesting and I thank you FARS — I appreciate it.
