In a stunning blow to the impartiality of the American Judicial system, Federal Judge David O. Carter, who is hearing the case Barnett vs. Obama, in the Central District, Southern Division Court at Santa Ana, California, has just hired a lawyer who works for a law firm where Robert F. Bauer, one of Obamas top lawyers is a partner. And that, just days before the Oct. 5, 2009 hearing on the Motion to Dismiss, in which his demeanor radically changed, according to Dr. Orly Taitz, esq., lead counsel for the Plaintiffs.
Siddharth Velamoor is the lawyer chosen by Carter to serve as one of his two official clerks, from Oct. 1, 2009, till Sept. 30, 2010, according to Wikipedia. Velamoor is listed as an associate with Perkins Coie, LLPs office in Seattle, Washington. It is not clear if he has broken his relations with the firm.
C, is a partner of Perkins Coie, LLPs office in Washington, D.C.. His bio at the company identifies him as holding the Chair of the Political Law group at the firm; general counsel to Obamas Campaign for America and general counsel to the Democratic National Committee.
Mr. Bauers wife is none other than Anita Dunn, the Whitehouse Communications Director.

> Federal law clerks are hired at least a year in advance. > It's that simple, except in the fevered brains of conspiracy theorists.
Individual judges can have their own individual procedures and application deadlines and still be within the Federal Judge Law Clerk Hiring Plan. Judge Carter has a respectable, but small, court not many seats and barely enough bathrooms to service a full courtroom on an extended break. IOW, it's not the DCC or SDNY ... and not necessarily at the top of the list for hotshot Honors Scholars and magna cum laudes like Velamoor. I'm sure Clerkships are probably quite competitive for the Judge, but likely not as competitive as larger, more prominent courts and as such, would likely have a shorter application deadline. As this case has been in the hopper since Jan. 16, it's quite possible a large firm like Perkins Coie LLP was able to "pull some strings" once the case was assigned this spring to Judge Carter in the ... BTW, broward you're very wise not to have sent that barb directly to me or I would have had to thump you again like before. |
The Slovakian Law School is very likely a goof by Findlaw, since “Comenius” is close to “Columbia” alphabetically. Yeah, so is "London School of Economics and Political Science." Dude ... seriously ... the crackpipe ... |
You’re really quite amusing, and quite insane.
Perkins Coie has 15 offices worldwide. Bauer is in D.C., Velamoor was in Seattle, working in product liability, as previously noted.
So this can’t be a coincidence? There’s probably hundreds of partners in the firm. Or is it that he got his marching orders from Bauer to game this case?
I’m just saying, I read the transcript of the pleadings this weekend, and Carter didn’t seem too enamored of Orly’s pleadings. Do they really need this junior partner to help along their nefarious plans?
Well he sure “seemed” supportive of the suit at first, indicating that the servicemen et al had a right to know. (Yet, he’s a clinton appointee so even after reading he said that I had my doubts) now that it’s been shown that obama’s lawfirm’s guy in working w/carter, well, it aint looking good.
The scotus is reflective of poltics, this doesn’t sound any different to me. It’s a bunch of BS, but so is everything assoc with this administration.
It was was really late, I didn’t feel like pounding, and it appears that nothing is really a coincidence anymore. The people against vetting have their minds made up. Did you see the article about how the DOJ sent in their own crew to pretend to be reporters? LoL!! First secret bloggers, now secret reporters...are we really surprised that obama’s got someone on the inside with carter?
It NEVER works that way. A shrewd crook like Obama rarely implicates themselves.
They use proxies.
I've worked with clerks who are helpful, and others that are a pain in the a$$. They act as filters to the judges, and oftentimes interject their opinion in doing so. Justice is blind and UNBIASED (or at least it's supposed to be). Their clerks? Do they get a detailed background check like those with a DoD Secret or TS clearance? NO and INSIDER INFORMATION??! For the right price or the right career opportunity, it doesn't exist.
Here's a few of MANY such examples: (Farmington, N.Y., 9/04/09) - A local woman is accused of destroying public records through her job as a court clerk in Manchester. State police say Deanna Hopkins, 40, removed the hard drive from a court computer and destroyed it; the hard drive contained sensitive court documents and case information. Hopkins is charged with tampering with public records and computer tampering — both felonies. She was released on bail and will be back in court later this month. Court clerk convicted of bribery, May 6, 2004 A U.S. Bankruptcy Court clerk is facing 12 to 18 months in prison after FBI agents nabbed him pocketing bribes from two local men looking for a corrupt, competitive edge in their niche business. Dick Rodriguez, a 12-year veteran of the bankruptcy clerk's staff in Miami, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of bribery. Sentencing is set for July 29 in front of U.S. District Judge Adalberto Jordan. Court clerk tampered with records. “A former municipal court clerk accused of paying employees for hours they did not work pleaded guilty Monday to a felony count of tampering with records. Michael Pirik, 46, who lost his re-election bid for Franklin County Municipal Court clerk in November, could be sentenced to up to 18 months in prison and $5,000 in fines. |
Don’t confuse court clerks with judges’ law clerks. They are two different things.
> Do they really need this junior partner to help along their nefarious plans? Sure, what a better way to get insider information! You act as if corporate espionage doesn't exist in the private and public sectors. It might go down something like this at his farewell party in a private conversation with a single, Senior Partner:
Siddharth, I know you'll make us proud with Judge Carter. He's a tough old Marine, but you'll learn a lot while you're with him. We had to pull some strings to get you in there on such short notice, but I had someone on the selection committee who owed me a favor. |
I'm not. I'm being lazy and posting the first results that pop up.
Judge law clerks are JUST as if not MORE corruptible.
After all...
THEY'RE FREAKIN’ ATTORNEYS !!!!
The types of clerks you list in this post are not the type of clerks that this guy is. You are referencing administrative clerks, whereas the guy in this thread does more substantive work such as legal research.
Then why are you working so hard to defend him?
BTW, welcome to FR.
"Obama supporters have consistently shown irrational passion
to defend Obama from what they claim are ridiculous charges."
Mmm mmm mmm
Where have I defended this law clerk? I have just made one post in this thread indicating that you might not realize that there are two types of law clerks. Now that you know, you have the opportunity to revize your original point with examples of the correct kind of law clerk.
You’re welcome.
I would think you can spend that valuable time brushing up on your understanding of the court system so that you do not so easily confuse the players going forward.
These threads attract the Obama trolls like flies on poop.
No, please update if you find any thing out...........
