Anyone with the mental capacity above a 5 year old knows this Nobel business was nonsense. Non of my Democrat friends have even tried to defend Obama’s non-award award. Quite the opposite actually … even they are searching for examples of why Obama would qualify for such an award. This may actually be even more ludicrous than Gore’s Nobel award … almost.
So what did the Nobel jury responsible for giving Obama the award do to defend their decision? Very little.

Here’s a possible explanation...
Committee Chairman Thorbjørn Jagland said that “a number of key factors went into our decision.”
“First, President Obama is more for peace than any other person on the planet,” Jagland asserted. “Such earnest enthusiasm for an ideal merits special recognition.” Jagland observed that a similar standard led the Committee to award the Peace Prize to former US Vice-President Al Gore in 2007. “If we are giving Mr. Gore the Prize for his earnest enthusiasm on behalf of global warming, failure to do something similar for Mr. Obama might be construed as latent racism,” Jagland argued.
“Second, we felt that the award could serve as a sort of consolation prize for the snubbing of Mr. Obama by the International Olympic Committee when they rejected his entreaties to grant the 2016 Olympic games to Chicago,” Jagland continued. “While we recognize that the financial gain Mr. Obama could have reaped from the Olympic award to his hometown dwarf those of our Prize, we felt it might ease his pain.”
“Finally, the barrage of criticism from the right-wing media in America—most notably the recent lampooning of Mr. Obama by the Saturday Night Live television program—is undermining his progressive agenda,” Jagland concluded. “It is our hope that our award will offset, if not silence, this criticism.”

Yeah that, and its the same as those stupid Caucuses in ‘08 (which need to be replaced with a secret ballot....)....a bunch of liberals pressuring each other to make sure ‘The Brother’ gets it no mater what the qualifications....
Or leave Afghanistan now award.

WHO CARES ABOUT THE NOBEL PRIZE ANYMORE??? These are THEIR awards. OF Libs, BY Libs, and FOR Libs. Every now and then, they’ll step out and award it to a non-Lib. Ever since they awarded it to Yasser Arafat in 1994, they have stopped being relevant! They are like the Academy Awards - a closed-in system - they award them to whoever they want to award them to, whether that person has earned it or not.
It’s a farce, but I’m glad a loser like ostammer got the award. Why, you might ask, would a conservative woman say this? Because, since EVERYONE - including the Nobel jury - knows ostammer did nothing to deserve the award, giving it to him marginalizes/”cheapens” the award as it pertains to other recent winners, such as Gore and Carter.
