Does that statement apply to the supposed backstage interchange mentioned in Reply 50 as well?
Yes.
Dr. Keyes has been asked about this as well on one of our America’s Summit conference calls and said it never happened. The story came from someone’s fertile imagination.
I did find it. Its at the CSPAN Site inthe Video Archives. All the debates. I watched all of them. The exchange described did not happen.
Go look for yourself, I found them in about 5 min of going through CSPAN’s website.
Last fall/winter this topic came up and I found a web site that hosted all the transcripts of the debates. I scoured them but couldn’t find the NBC exchange. Perhaps this particular debate wasn’t among the ones I searched.
Because Alan Keyes never took the race seriously and spent more than one of his radio interviews during the campaign singing “Over the Rainbow” on the air.
I was in IL at the time and it was “surreal”.
Thanks for the ping!
lol, Chief Editor, Sammy Korir
go here! go around the 51 time mark, they EDITED THIS!!! http://www.c-spanvideo.org/videoLibrary/video.php?dispid=183931-1
What do you guys think?
De-bunked by who? It was on You Tube. I saw it. I never knew it would be a big deal. It was NOT during the debate, it was after they walked off the stage, there were reporters there, asking questions and Keys and oboma had a few exchanges. There was a lot of commotion, maybe Keyes didn’t think it was a big deal at the time.
All I know is I saw it. People commented on it on You Tube, so did I. I added it to my favorites and then it was gone. I searched all over trying to find it somewhere, never could. Someone has that tape, or it has been destroyed forever. Keys doesn’t have a very good memory, that’s for sure.
Oh REALLY!?
Isn’t that interesting....
I did not understand that it was comments made after the debate.... Hum...
I am betting someone has it somewhere.
Titled something obscure I am sure. Have you searched the person who posted it? They might still have something, and you could contact them.... Just an idea.
It was a long time ago, I have no clue who put the videos up. One of the them that did, I was a subscriber to his videos and I can’t even remember his name right now. He always found really good clips. His account was terminated by Ebay right after the election. I asked some others that I new were friends with him if he re-joined with another name, but they didn’t know. I kept reaching dead ends.
NOW I download all videos but at the time, the you Tube scrubbing was just beginning so I had no reason to think it would disappear. I wish I could recall the reporters who were there, but I have to be honest and say I can’t. There were several, maybe 10-15, asking questions after the debate, in the backstage area.
Someone has that video. It had to be filmed for it end up on You Tube. I have looked so many times it’s ridiculous and came up empty handed. I still think it’s out there somewhere. I did the same thing you did, download all of the Key’s debates hoping that maybe one of them had the backstage part at the end of it. No luck.
If you were a subscriber it will be recorded in your account information unless you unsubscribed.
As for the Keys videos, it took me 4.5 hours to watch it all. If I had know that it was a the end, I would have just looked there. I don’t consider it time wasted tho, I know now that it wasn’t DURING the debates.
Looks like they cut it. These are on You Tube, compare them to see what they cut out, if anything. But the one I saw where he said it was backstage, not during the debate.
Speaking of Sammy the nutjob and API. I will never be 100% convinced that MO didn’t call him. That is exactly the sort of thing she would do. However, I think he wished he would have recorded it and probably got $$ by saying he did have it.
Here’s Keyes’ site... with the audio, video, and transcript of his debate with Obama in 2004. The funny thing is he disabled everything. And when you try to use wayback, a message comes up saying Keyes has blocked the archives to his site. hmmmmm
http://2004.keyesarchives.com/multimedia.php
We’re sorry, access to http://2004.keyesarchives.com/ has been blocked by the site owner via robots.txt.
He would have forgotten it because a naturalized person can be a senator. And Keyes was not thinking of a President Obama in 2004. Apparently, only the American people wanted someone like that, far removed from Keyes.
It sounds like it was edited right there, like they cut out 1-2 seconds of audio and video.
