Folks, I need to find a coat / jacket / cape that I saw at a high school football game. The weather was really cold and the players on the sidelines had a cape / jacket type cover. It did not appear to be just a XXXL type jacket. Rather it seemed to be DESIGNED to go over the pads. I've done a Google search but don't really know what I'm looking for search word wise.
Can anyone offer some insight or point me to a vendor?
Thanks
Ask the high school to sell you one.

try above link - I get a lot of football gear for my boys here. Not sure if they have what you are looking for...but it’s good for football gear.
You might try calling the athletic department of the high school and ask them for more info.
When I played ball in the old days we called them benchwarmers...wool, hooded, and warm...
I would go to Big 5, REI or whatever is your sporting good store and get an emergency blanket. Not that thin foil crap.
A real one. They are very thick and durable, work perfect as a windbreaker and will definitely keep you warm.
I tried one in Lake Tahoe, at 10 degrees, worked great. Only reason I didn’t stay out all night is a cop wondered if I was okay. Told him I have a room just testing this blanket.
He asked me for I.D. and I said it’s in my room, so we went to the room showed him my I.D. and my friend said “He is an idiot. He is always testing everyting he buys. Thinks he is Survivorman.”
Cop asked how long I had been out there and I guessed about 5 hours.
The thing worked great and I was warm and dead asleep when the cop woke me up.
Anyway, reminds me, I have to go and get a replacement. I put one on an accident victim last month and forgot to replace it.
I will try to remember to let you know the brand and cost. But, it will be way cheaper than some specialty sports gear or even something like a Columbia Ski Jacket($300 and up).
I will post back to you in a few hours.
I had one of those sandwiched between some wool Army blankets when I was in Germany. Used them to replace my sleeping bag. A lot less weight, water resistant and warm as anything.
Might have to construct something along those lines. But it sure would be nice to find one already made.
The one I had, until last month, had velcro on the sides and you could use it like a poncho.
I will get back to you in a few hours.
I believe they are called “sideline capes.”
You sir are the BOMB!!!!!
I’ve been pulling my hair out trying to find them.
BTTT GET the replacement and help this guy
Again
