Just heard this guy on Bloomberg News this morning. Prompted me to find this interview from 3 days ago on another station. Very "animated" & entertaining style to listen to, but his message ain't pretty.

It's malaise on steroids. Creepy malaise.

He’s right. I own a small business and I can’t get an increase on my credit line or a new credit line to help with my cash flow problems.

I will be surprised if overall christmas spending isn’t higher than in 2004. IT’s just a guess, and that would be the worst in 5 years, but a far cry from the worst in 40 years.

I can’t imagine how, under any scenario short of a nuclear attack, we wouldn’t spend more money on christmas this year than we did in 1969 (40 years ago).
