Another disgusting display by a first couple that has absolutely no regard for the miltary whatsoever.
Unfortunately, we can’t count on the media to repport any of this. Most don’t even know there was a date night, or that 10 were killed over the weekend. And the media will never highlight it like they did with Bush. There aren’t any Republicans in Congress who the media pay attention to, and while folks liek Rush and Levin and Beck can make noise, they play to the choir. Only when the public at large sees things like this and hears about it will they get fed up.
There are only a few Republicans out there who can make this a national story and drive it. One of them is in Dallas and has too much class. One is in the Senate from AZ and is to much of a jackass. Ironically the only two who can make this an issue are the former VP and his would-be successor.
If she were to go on any TV show tomorrow and mention how disgrceful it is that right after jetting back and forth to Copenhagen for a huimiliating failure, and right after another 265K americans lost their jobs last month, him and Michelle were going out on date night while 10 Americans were killed as he’s ordering his minions to hang their commander out to dry it would instantly become the #1 issue in the US. It is not a winning issue for him and he will fall fast because of it. Even the media won’t be able to defend him because there is no defense. Like they couldn’t defend him on his Olympic failure. He was humililated in front of the world and there was no way to hide it.
Her or Cheney are really the only ones who can make this a story instantly.
I’d say either the Today Show tomorrow as it will become the story of the entire day or something like O’Reilly or Beck. Today is better because it reaches a wide audience and not just conservatives watch it.
What a disgrace. If George and Laura were heading out for date night in their multi limo entourage while 10 Americans were killed they’d be excoriated and rightly so.
The Olympics, the jobs report, the awful weekend in Afghanistan, it’s all falling apart for him.
Having returned bitch-slapped from an unnecessary trip completely outside his job description, the empty suit is apparently paralyzed and unable to act, so American troops die while he finishes his Olympics pity party.
Consider: He isn’t qualified under the Constitution for the office. Even if it turns out that he is qualified, he is incompetent and was spending millions in legal fees because taxpayers are picking up the tab. (And this is a real possibility considering his spending thus far.) He was—and may still be—a member of a criminal enterprise.
Any one of these reasons alone is enough to bring articles of impeachment and removal from office. Before too long, possibly by the first of the year, I expect Reid, Pelosi and others will ask for his resignation.
