What's creepy? Telling a story about having sex with your employees to people who LAUGH

Wow.

I don't know where to begin with David Letterman's bizarro, play-it-for-laughs on-air admission that he had sex with staff members.

On the one hand, good for him for telling a fairly unvarnished account of being blackmailed by a Connecticut man for $2 million and admitting to the "creepy things," as Dave kept putting it, the blackmailer was threatening to take public.

On the other hand: Couldn't somebody have gone out between the first and second act and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Letterman is about to talk about something very difficult and though you might be tempted to laugh, please don't."

Instead, Letterman (whether by accident or design) wound up playing the story for laughs, and even drew applause with his admission that he'd had affairs with employees. Here are the highlights...

After a monologue that included more than one Roman Polanski joke -- which I found odd given my knowledge of what was coming -- act two began with Dave, who was clearly enjoying his audience, saying "I'm glad you folks are here tonight and in such a good mood ..... Do you feel like a story?" (Crowd: Yeahh!!)

So he starts talking about finding the package in the back of his car at 6 a.m. and the note, which read, "I know that you do some terrible, terrible things." Laughter. "A guy is going to write a screenplay about me ... unless I give him some money. ... That's a little hinky!" More laughter.

You can tell Letterman is trying to ratchet up the gravity. He uses the word "terrifying" to describe his response to this extortion letter.

Anyone who finds David Letterman the least bit entertaining or funny is a loser anyway, so the audience reaction should come as no surprise. Letterman has no talent, is thoroughly unlikeable, and is simply a product of marketing support for decades, forcing his personna into America’s mainstream. He’s a POS.

And he is extremely mean-spirited. As my dad would say “it couldn’t happen to a nicer guy”.

Dave is a perverted idiot. He makes fun of raping Sarah Palin’s daughter and then thinks laughter is the best way to handle affairs with his staff. What a predatory creep.

I haven’t seen the clip, but listening to it on the radio yesterday made it seem like the crowd thought he was still in his joke routine. After a couple of minutes, it seemed the crowd realized he was serious and the laughter and applause disappeared.

“the law suits are a comin!”

Yup. He violated the law. Even if the trysts were “consentual”, if his partner was subordinate to him, it’s a bad thing for him and CBS. He was in a position of authority.

This says volumes about modern America. Hollywood stands up for a child rapist and the Letterman audience laughs at him for having sex with his entire female staff. It may be to late for rebuilding any sense of morality in this country.

Now, if any conservative had done any thing like this sexually depraved man Dave L. did, what would they be treated like by the morally and spiritually depraved left wingers of America.? This depravity of the left wing is destroying all of America.

SeeBS keeps having the video pulled from you-tube every time someone mentions that it’s not the fact that he had sex, but it’s because he had sex with women that WORKED FOR HIM. Guess they see the lawsuits on their way when some of these women decide to hire a lawyer.

In defense of the audience, they are prepped before the show to laugh and clap whenever it strikes them that something might be even remotely funny.

What if the “creepy things” include rubber suits, cross dressing, S&M or other bizarre practices not usually publicized around network TV?

Of course, entertainment celebrities will come to his defense, perhaps with a Planski-Letterman defense group.

He also got laughs for his joke about 14 yr old Willow Palin being raped by A-rod. The studio bosses did nothing.
