Part of the speculation about why Chicago didn't get the Olympics is that maybe the President wasn't at his best, after all he doesn't have a lot of experience in saying good things about the United States. But there is no worry, the president didn't have to say anything nice, what he said is he wanted the Olympics because America needed to repair its Image because of what was going on during the past few years, a code for "We Suck Because of George Bush."

I’m sure that they’ll come up with some kind of a chip they can plant in his brain.

From your link:
There is clearly a designed effort to rebut stories that are exposing the Holder Justice Department as more political than the last."Uh, if the Holder Justice Department is using anonymous bloggers to refute criticism on forums such as this, then it IS mor political than the last. Duh.

In The End It Was President Obama Who BLEW the Olympic Sales Pitch The problem is, it was nothing but a sales pitch. Everyting Obama does is a sales pitch. Unlike America's state-run media, the Olympic committee didn't fall for his flim-flam.

Me shell was going over there and said she would take no prisoners ... Well, she came back emptyhanded, poor thing. Still living in Winnie Mandela's shadow after her big moment on the international stage.
Somebody's gonna pay, lol.

Good point. Obama has his "change" narrative and his "race" narrative. That's what he has, what he does, pretty much what he is.
But the "change" narrative doesn't work here. It reminds foreigners of what they didn't like about Bush and about America even before Bush. It's weaker than Brazil's "new country, new continent, new hemisphere" pitch.
The only way you could offset that would be to claim to be more efficient, more secure, more competent than Rio, to have more resources and bring them to bear on time and without waste. Obama's pitch didn't do that, and it lost whatever chance Chicago had to snag the Olympics.

...a major obstacle which stands in the way of hosting the World Olympics is requirements for foreign visitors. Finger prints, photographs, registration are some requirements if you live in certain countries. This is all because of policies put in place by the Bush Administration. Extreme security and requirements are not inviting to the rest of the world.
