Palin Camp reponds to Schmidt slam: Wait for the book
Texas for Sarah Palin ^ | October 2, 2009 at 7:05 PM CDT | Josh Painter

Just off the CNN Political Ticker:

Sarah Palin is remaining silent about a sharp jab directed at her Friday by former John McCain campaign manager Steve Schmidt, who predicted that a potential Palin presidential bid in 2012 would be "catastrophic."

A spokeswoman for the former Alaska governor said Palin is holding her fire until her new book is released next month.

"The governor will write about all of this in her book," Palin spokeswoman Meg Stapleton said in an e-mail, referring to the internal fighting that marred the final weeks of McCain's president bid. "There will be plenty of time to talk about it then."

Steve Schmidt's mismanagement of the McCain campaign was nothing less than catastrophic, so his political advice is pretty much worth a share of Chrysler common stock right now.

At The Conservative Comeback, Schmidt conjures up images of George Costanza.

I love that graphic. Schmidt needs to stick to watching his “Brokeback Mountain” DVD and let the adults get this country back under control. The boy blew his shot and he blew it bad.

Sounds like the chubby Stevie is sweating bullets while he contemplates what might be in Sarah’s book. Good.

Steve Schmidt, who predicted that a potential Palin presidential bid in 2012 would be “catastrophic.” . . . . . As opposed to the catastrophe we have now? What a nut

Scmidy and others in the McClain camp must be shaking in their fancy liberal boots. They are coming at her with all their popguns ablaze before the book is out. And Willard, she can plant his hide to the wall with just a few well-placed comments. 2012 gets closer by the second. . . .

I would like to get a high quality file of this pic and the one of Cheney looking at obumber on the day obumber was anointed. They would make one heck of a poster or wall paper.

If anyone knows what a catastrophe is, its this guy. Just look at the campaign he ran.

The reason why Schmidt and the rest of the RINOS in the GOP are terrified is that if Sarah does run and win, they will have to admit that she was the only reason why people went to the polls in 2008 and voted for McCain. McCain was a DISASTER, wanna talk about catastrophe, talk about John McCain, or talk about that Communist, Marxist, radical bastard we have in the White House now.

Great point and I think you’ve really nailed it. If she does run and wins, a lot of the good ol’ boys are going to have egg on their faces. I’m looking forward to it.

He’s Schmidtting his pants I guess. I cannot wait to read the book. I hope she sheds some much needed light on what when on behind the scenes last year....

You can bet he is extremely worried about what is in Going Rogue. A lot of others, including McCain are also worried. Who knows how many people will buy the book, how many others will borrow the book from their friends, how many will check it out of libraries across the country, and how many will read reviews, excerpts, etc. This book could eventually be read by 5 million or more.

“referring to the internal fighting that marred the final weeks of McCain’s president bid. “There will be plenty of time to talk about it then.””

Palin almost ruined McCain’s plans of losing the election.

Stevie is a bit of a bedwetter. The piece they're referring to contained the assertions (1) that her base - that would be us, folks - was "hostile to ideas", and (2) that she demonstrated this by writing her book in four months. A book that he hasn't read yet.

Follow that one if you can. It makes sense to Schmidt. It also explains a lot about his boss's campaign.
