Obama Can’t Be Bothered To Meet With His Generals

President Obama touted the importance of the Afghanistan war during the 2008 election campaign. He consistently accused Bush of ignoring that campaign, and focusing too much on the Iraq front. Obama promised that when he was president, he would take whatever steps necessary to obtain victory in Afghanistan (wait, we can’t say victory anymore, can we?) Since this campaign is supposedly very important to Obama, and he sees it as critical to our national security, one would think that he would want regular updates and strategy sessions with the commanding general in charge of Afghanistan, General Stanley McChrystal.

Yet Obama has seen it fit to have a meeting with McChrystal only once so far in his Presidency, and that was back in April and via Video Conference. Contrast that to President Bush, who met often with generals. In actuality as we all now know, Obama’s foreign policy pronouncements during the campaign were nothing but bald-faced lies.

Obama has met with David Letterman more times than he has with General McChrystal. Priorities?

I am not shocked, this is exactly what was said before the election and nobody listened.

Meet with a general! Why that would interfere with his TV time!

The guy is a liar, but I don’t think anyone was fooled.

The people who voted against him certainly knew he was lying. The anti-war people who voted for him knew he was lying. And the people in the middle knew he was lying, but they needed the lie in order to justify doing what they wanted to do and knew was wrong.

Same with the slippery talk about abortion, and the slippery talk about homosexual “marriage”. The bald lies about illegal immigration and insurance companies and death panels and on and on. No one is fooled by his lies, not his enemies, not his supporters. But he needs to lie because the people in the middle need a sop for their consciences.

And, as it is a disasterous process for our nation, as these ‘middle-roaders’ swallow the lies it sears their consceince so the next lie, even a more gross lie, goes down more easily.

The general sized up his CIC in 10 seconds and saw a phony and fraud. And Obama knows it.

That is the reason Obama avoids McChrystal.
