The New Republic Of Texas...Sounding Better Every Day

As the United States as we grew up in and once knew it rapidly disappears, many expatriate native Texans are following the activities of the Texas Secession Movement. The solution to oppressive modern government? Start another country. You can take a Texan out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of a Texan. Its something in the blood.

These groups support the establishment of an independent and free Texas and Texas secession. Texas has a proud independent history, dating back to the original Texians and the 1836 fight for independence.

Some say that Texas cannot legally secede; however, King George said the same about the colonies. Texas Governor Rick Perry recently said that, "We've got a great union. There's absolutely no reason to dissolve it. But if Washington continues to thumb their nose at the American people, you know, who knows what might come out of that. But Texas is a very unique place, and we're a pretty independent lot to boot." Texas, along with many other independent minded states, such as Montana, is concerned with the Obama government's lack of respect for the 10th Amendment.

When the Republic of Texas ended and Texas entered the Union in 1845, it negotiated the right to divide itself into four additional separate states. The new Texas states would probably correspond with the five Texas geographic regions. But, in 1876, the strong willed Texans in the Texas Constitution's Bill of Rights asserted greater rights.

According to the State Constitution, "Texas is a free and independent State subject only to the Constitution of the United States." But "being subject" to the U.S. Constitution is limited by the further Texan assertion that, "All political power is inherent in the people ... they have at all times the inalienable right to alter their government...

The original boundaries of the Republic of Texas aren't too shabby, either.

Thank you, I am very interested in this.

A few years ago, some in Texas were minting silver
coins to be used to purchase items.

Didn’t Texas just overwhelmingly pass their “Tenth Amendment” bill?

If at all possible, I do see how it would be very possible for neighboring states to join the Texas Union, but I think this is all just wishful thinking.

Wishful thinking is when you sit around just wishfully thinking about things. Daydreaming...

Wishful thinking becomes reality when you set about to make it happen.

To the no good slob living in his mothers basement, a high paying job and a place of his own is wishful thinking. Until, of course, he decides to get off his a$$ and do the hard work required to make it happen.

Honestly as a Texan and an American, its the last thing I would want to happen. But with east and west coast so infected with liberalism, corruption and desire to destroy all that is good about this country, I do see a time in the future that a split may be best.

I would love to think that the vast majority of Americans want freedom over liberal tyranny and would rise up and clean out Washington and the state governments ruled by the dark side. But if not, I am unwilling to participate in their “liberal utopia.” I’ve seen what happens in liberal controlled states, no thank you.

The socialists executed their plan perfectly - capturing the schools, universities, unions, media, entertainment and government. Its going to take whole lot of work to drain the swamp. And we don’t have a lot of time left to do it. 2010 and 2012 must be major pivots. The union will not withstand another 6 years of socialist control in Washington.

If after 2 years under Obama’s “leadership” and a Democrat controlled Congress Americans still want more dhimmirat control, we are screwed.

I hope you are right, I am certainly ready. Lincoln should not have saved the Union. There is just too much cultural differences in the country.
