White House: We blew it on Gitmo
Patriot Room ^ | September 25, 2009 | Bill Dupray

Posted on 09/25/2009 6:49:02 AM PDT by Bill Dupray

So White House advisor Greg Craig has been stuffed into a broom closet for advising Obama to close Gitmo, a position Obama himself shouted every day from every grassy knoll in the country last year. It was a ridiculous, nakedly political position, divorced from all reality, but the left-wing base just had to be appeased. A fourth grader would have had the sense to ask of and demand an answer from Obama on what he planned to do with the terrorists once he closed Gitmo, but that question apparently didn't occur to anybody with press credentials.

Now that O has released some of the terrorists there will be room for the newest crop of jihadists caught right here in the USA.

I will wait to witness the “we screwed up” statement by Hussein himself before I get any sort of idea that they have learned a terrible lesson.

Bush told you.
Cheney told you.
Americans everywhere told you, but you listened to your party’s crazies. And the lead crazy was theOne and only O, himself.
Told you so.

Hey Gerg Craig, you better tell this to The One. As late as YESTERDAY he proclaimed to the world (OK, the UN) that he was closing Gitmo by January 19, 2010.

We’re in a brave new world, sad to say. When these Gitmo guys get their trials in American courts, how many will have cases thrown out because they weren’t read their Miranda rights, or because the evidence from the battlefield wasn’t handled properly, for example? How many may go free because we’re trying them in civilian courts?

You can’t handle war crimes and military trials in the same way as civilian trials. This is the big mistake these liberals make.

“I can’t wait until the adults are back in charge!”

That’s the best analogy for Obama’s presidency I’ve heard yet. It’s just like the parents are out of town and he and his friends are throwing wild parties and completely trashing the place. They made a movie with that scenario once it was called “Risky Business”. They had pimps and hoes in that too.

Can you Re-call a President like they did Gray Davis in California?

"the big admission is that they had no plan. When you elect a guy who has never run so much as a lemonade stand to be president, you can't expect to have him succeed, never mind excel, at a job as complex as that of President of the United States."

Economist magazine- March
"(Obama's) performance has been weaker than those who endorsed his candidacy, including this newspaper, had hoped. Many of his strongest supporters—liberal columnists, prominent donors, Democratic Party stalwarts—have started to question him. As for those not so beholden, polls show that independent voters again prefer Republicans to Democrats, a startling reversal of fortune in just a few weeks.
Mr Obama’s once-celestial approval ratings are about where George Bush’s were at this stage in his awful presidency. Despite his resounding electoral victory, his solid majorities in both chambers of Congress and the obvious goodwill of the bulk of the electorate, Mr Obama has seemed curiously feeble."

Bill, you overlooked an important point when you stated there was no Republican support for closing Gitmo. John McCain and butt boy Graham thought it was a wonderful idea! I intensely despise Craig but he has a valid point here when the GOP nominee agreed with the policy.

I think he listened.

I think he knew.

This guy told the people he thought would vote for him...what they wanted to hear.

On the other hand....he just might be ignorant enough to believe that was/is the right thing to do.
