John McCain's campaign foreign policy advisor, Randy Scheunemann, has emerged as an advisor to former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as she attempts to build a serious public profile and begins to build a network of aides and advisors typical of a national politician.
Scheunemann confirmed this evening that he's with Palin in Hong Kong, where she is delivering a paid speech at a conference hosted by the brokerage house CLSA, which has in the past heard keynotes from Bill Clinton and Al Gore.

This doesn't sound good folks. Why is a McCain flunky advising Palin?
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
What I get from this is Palin is going for the gold... and that’s darn good news in my book.

Wasn’t he the one who stood up for her and spoke out against the others?
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
From what I am understanding, this guy is one of a few that defended Sarah since the election. She has her own ideas, I think he is just helping her get her thoughts sorted out
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
I have NO problem with a McCain foreign policy adviser briefing Sarah. I would have a very big problem if a McCain immigration adviser, a judicial adviser or a domestic adviser briefed her.

I think he’s got a long resume that includes having been part of Rumsfeld’s team in 2001, then going on to support the Iraq War effort from outside of government. He was outspoken in defending Palin and her intellect back from that time in the campaign, and I think he’s the one who corrected the ‘South Africa’ slur against her too.
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
Like others have posted, he was in her corner while Nicole Wallace and others were not, to put it mildly....
To: Extremely Extreme Extremist
Scheunemann is in her corner. He went on the record defending her from the ‘anonymous’ smears against her after the election coming from the McCain staff. He was also her debate coach for the VP debate.

I hope this isn’t true, she could do better than that.

Maybe I spoke to soon, I do remember someone from McCain’s camp speaking up for her. Never mind.

What exactly makes him a flunky? Or are you just assuming that anyone's who's been within arm's reach of McCain is a "flunky"?

Wasnt he the one who stood up for her and spoke out against the others? Yes, he was. The posters at C4P are confirming this too.

Scheunemann’s good; he is on Mrs. Palin’s side. He understands why she is so popular with sane Americans.
