The youngster arrived for his first term at secondary school wearing a dress and with long hair in ribboned pigtails after his parents changed his name to a female one by deed poll over the summer holidays.
However, the boy, who is preparing to undergo hormone treatment and sex change surgery, was immediately taunted by classmates who recognised him from primary school.
As a result, the 1,000-pupil school in south east England decided to call an emergency assembly ordering children to treat him as a girl and use his new name.
But parents have reacted angrily after some youngsters were apparently left in tears by the news. They claim that the head teacher should have informed parents of the matter beforehand, so that they could have discussed gender issues with their children.

Welcome to a lifetime of ass whippings, kid.
Somewhere in the world a father cries himself to sleep each night.
Grandma can’t get an MRI but a 12 year old can get a sex change. I’m with you, beam me up Scotty.
The girls should treat him the same way that Black people would treat someone in Black Face.
Welcome to a life of addiction to hard drugs and a long record of criminal convictions is more like it. This is a 12 year old. There is no reason to indulge this fantasy in a 12 year old. The parents and the doctors responsible should be held to account for it.
What the **** is this world coming to?
Monty Python was onto this a long time ago:

From “Life of Brian”
STAN: I want to be a woman. From now on, I want you all to call me ‘Loretta’.
REG: What?!
LORETTA: It’s my right as a man.
JUDITH:Well, why do you want to be Loretta, Stan?
LORETTA:I want to have babies.
REG:You want to have babies?!
LORETTA: It’s every man’s right to have babies if he wants them.
REG: But... you can’t have babies.
LORETTA:Don’t you oppress me.
REG: I’m not oppressing you, Stan. You haven’t got a womb! Where’s the foetus going to gestate?! You going to keep it in a box?!
Well,I can certainly guess two parents that WON’T be up for mom and dad of the year......
It was the reaction of the parents (if true) that floored me - they just wanted more time to help their daughters understand gender politics! What?????
Ooogh... groan.... poor kid, no-one is doing she/him any favours here. It isn’t far short of child abuse.
HAHAHAHAHA!!! The kid is a sick freak, just like his mom and dad.
Would he go to a prison for men or women when he’s older?
This is so wrong to do to a child. Let’s see if I have this right...spank a child in public and the child gets taken away. Give a child a sex change and announce it publicly and you get applauded for your great parenting skills.
Maybe someday there will be places where you can stop in for a 10-minute sex change on your way to work.
Yeah but if he is a ‘sick freak’ who is indulging him to make it a reality? Set him on a right path! - after all the kid is 12 and I presume this has been in the offing for some time. Many kids have phases where they dream weird stuff, but to act it out with such long term implications is bizarre.
Yes, I remember that too. And there were at least three or four skits involving men marrying men, one of the most outrageous concepts they could think of, for shock value. Now it’s a “civil right.”
One shudders to think what other crazy, absurd concepts they threw out as jokes will become reality.
I could imagine a world in which this becomes a norm, or a fashion - at 12 you get to choose your high school and the gender you would like to to enter it.
oooagh... my brain hurts.
“You going to keep it in a box?!” - priceless.
I can just hear Mister Garrison saying:
“AND...you children are NOT allowed to poke fun at him and/or her, whichever...!” (giggles)
Good luck with that!
“don’t you oppress me!” LOL! Man, it’s still so funny after all these years.
Maybe the world is ending in 2012.
