Anyone who followed the 2008 election in even a cursory manner must rememeber the interview Sarah Palin granted Charlie Gibson in September. Much like liberal comrade Katie Couric, Gibson used the opportunity to ask Palin every difficult question conceivable, a stark contrast to the kid glove treatment received by media darling Barack Obama.
In a now-famous exchange, Gibson asked Palin about the Bush Doctrine, as though it was a well accepted concept that had been widely circulated. Like many of us in the audience, Palin struggled to understand what Gibson meant by the term, and she received ridicule and criticism over the next several days from journalists who themselves had not been sure of what Gibson had meant. Gibson himself, professor-like, his glasses on the end of his nose like a tenured dinosaur whose lifes meaning has been reduced to baiting students into impossible questions, lectured the governor of Alaska on what, in his opinion, the so-called Bush Doctrine meant.
It is now a year later. The presidential candidate supported by Comrade Gibson and his ilk has won the presidency, helped in no small part by the society of community organizers known as ACORN. Perhaps Gibson believed his work was done at that point. Perhaps all journalists did. This would explain their absolute surprise and alarm that two amateurs with no real journalistic experience have managed, with limited time and funds, to crack the mighty oak that was disguised as an ACORN.
Gibson, when asked about this groundbreaking story and the resulting Senate vote that cut funding for ACORN, laughed hysterically and claimed he knew nothing of the story. Gibsons claim of ignorance came despite the fact that a fellow ABC employee, Jake Tapper, had done a piece on the ACORN scandal and posted it on ABCs website.

Thanks for reading!
Who the hell wants to waste his/her time lecturing a tree stump?
Gibson’s an overpaid actor. And he laughs like a little girl.
Link broken. Just get “Sorry no posts match your criteria”.
I’d say gibson really danaged his reputation - less than Dan Rather, probably, but that’s not saying much.
“ACORN? What’s ACORN? Duh, I just read what they put in front of me! Can’t I go back to interviewing celebrities and trying out cooking recipies on Good Morning America?”
Lightweight.
danaged = damaged

When I hear ABC NEWS - fair or not - I hear " All the News Democrats Want You To Know and Non-Stop Hatred for Conservatives... "
Thanks, it happens to the best of us.

This morning, the ACORN scandal was raised to Charlie Gibson in an interview on WLS AM Chicagos Don Wade & Roma Morning Show.
TRANSCRIPT:
Don: Ok heres my question, Senate bill yesterday passes cutting off funds to this group called ACORN. Now we got the we got that bill passing, we got the embarrassing video of ACORN staff giving tax advice on how to set up a brothel with 13 year old hookers. It has everything you could want corruption and sleazy action at tax funded organizations thats got government ties. But nobodys covering that story why?
Charlie Gibson: (laugh) I dont even know about it. Uh, so you got me at a loss, I dont know. Uh, uh, but, but My goodness if its got everything including sleaziness in it we should talk about it this morning.
Roma: This is the American way
Charlie Gibson: Well maybe, maybe thats one you just leave to the cables.
Roma: Well I think that this is a huge issue because theres so much funding that goes into this organization and its a multi
Charlie Gibson: Well, I know weve done some stories about ACORN before but uh, uh this one I dont know about.
Roma: Jake Tapper did some blogging on it. I know hes at least blogged once on this scandal.
Charlie Gibson: You guys, you guys are really up on the uh on the website.

Footage of the San Bernardino investigation was not available at the time of the interview.

For the record, the 2nd “video” is actually audio of Don Wade, a great Conservative and common sense voice on The Big 89, WLS-AM Chicago, who put the question to Mister condescending-looking-down-his-nose, Charlie Gibson. Props to Don! Especially for his timing, as he asked this most important question after Gibson had been yammering on for several minutes about his upcoming retirement, and Wade caught him squarely between the eyes!
Thanks for filling in the information!
Let me ask you a question Charlie: Do you agree with the “ACORN Doctrine”?
If Gibson truly did not know about the story, then his ignorance far outpaces that which he and his comrades in the media claimed about Palin. She did not know the media term for Bushs actions in the Middle East. For that matter, even the media didn't have a common definition of the Bush Doctrine. There were at least THREE different foreign policy philosophies that had been described as "the Bush Doctrine":
bump to the top
Exactly so. This discrepancy among journalists themselves wasn’t mentioned at the time of the Palin attack, but, then again, I don’t believe any conservatives had/have any delusions that the State media would do anything remotely close to actual reporting.
