No one should believe that the liberal mainstream media "missed" the most recent ACORN scandal. They did not "miss it."
When I broke the news on March 30 about the New York Times spiking the information they had about ACORN working with the Obama campaign (http://thebulletin.us/articles/2009/03/30/top_stories/doc49d0a73c7f98e547489394.txt), it went national, like the current scandal, only because of the Fox News Channel and talk radio.
I was working as a journalist for the Philadelphia Bulletin* at the time. An ACORN whistleblower said that the NY Times reporter to whom she had been feeding information to about ACORN told her the editors...

I agree, there was no missing the story. It was actively being covered up by the Obama Stream Media.

Great article from a great reporter.
The MSM doesn’t miss stories, they spike them unless it serves their larger purpose and that is forwarding the democratic party agenda.
This means that Charlie Gibson is a liar when he said he was unaware of the ACORN shenanigans.
Much like the Birth certificate and passports, eh?
I believe that Michcelle Malkin wrote an entire chapter about this in her latest book.

They didn’t “miss” the non-traditional reporting on this, they implied its “racism”.
I would be very interested to know the names of the New York Times reporter and editor(s) involved in this.
Yeah, they are smart enough to know better, but they will do whatever they can get away with to cover for Obama.
I posted the link to my original piece of March 30 in this blog. All you have to do is read my original story and that will tell you the information you seek.
Let me know if the link doesn’t work.
This means that Charlie Gibson is a liar when he said he was unaware of the ACORN shenanigans.
Charlie Gibson is a liar with or without being aware of any shenanigans.

Well, THAT sure did the "R's" a whole lot of good, didn't it?
Thank you. I have bookmarked your blog. I didn’t realize the names were in that link. If I were a subscriber to the New York Times, I would be tempted to sue them for “malpractice.” I remember reading about this at the time, but what I read did not name the reporter. We still don’t know who the editor(s) were who made this decision, which is a disgrace to and betrayal of journalism. The New York Times had reliable information that the Obama campaign was colluding with ACORN to do an end run around campaign finance laws, and did not do a story on it. For shame.
Well, ironically I was contacted by a NY Times shareholder who did mention it at a stockholders meeting. Here’s the link to that one:

Thanks for the blog bookmark. I post to it infrequently. Since the Bulletin closed I’m concentrating on looking for work. I’m also doing things like installing floors and sheetrock since I can’t afford to hire someone to do it. It keeps me pretty busy so I don’t always have time to write. In fact I need a vacation:)
It is pretty obviously a cover up. I used to question myself on my belief that the MSM was corrupt and thought I might need tinfoil. Leading up to the Presidential election I became convinced it was much worse than I had even imagined and those that believe in the MSM are the ones that need tinfoil. Now the media is so in the tank for Obama only a fool could doubt it.
Thank goodness there are a few real reporters left. I never doubted that Gibson was a liar- I did laugh that he had to make himself either look like an idiot or a corrupt member of the media, which of course he is both.
Great article. Thanks.
Ending paragraphs
“This is why when a reporter for a newspaper in Philadelphia reveals a scandal involving the New York Times and ACORN or when a pair activist-journalists working for a website reveal a scandal involving ACORN employees the mainstream media are silent. They do not want to promote anything that would be detrimental to the Democrats if there is any possible way to prevent doing so. The mainstream media does not want to legitimize criticism by Republicans.
It is not becaused they “missed it.”
