A Peek Behind The Race Card
Stephen Kruiser ^ | 09/16/09 | Stephen Kruiser

The race card is being dealt by Democrats faster than hands on a video poker machine right now. Like a 440 lb guy blaming his inability to run 5 miles on his shoes, the reason behind the dealing has little to do with race.

The single greatest thing to happen to progressives in America is that the president who most embraces their ideals also happens to be part black. This gives them a constant rationalization for failure. Already almost completely devoid of self-awareness, the race card ensures that progressives never have to reexamine motives, philosophy or policy. Nice gig if you can get it.

The real nine trillion dollar question that the race card is avoiding is this: With strong control of Congress and a charismatic president who has a virtual hammerlock on the media narrative, why can't Democrats pass the legislation they tell us everyone truly wants?

This was, after all, supposed to be the Golden Age for the left-of-left in the Democratic party. The new president espoused progressive ideology in his writings and with his few legislative initiatives. The Speaker of the House is from San Francisco and has monster numbers on her side. The Senate Majority Leader is an unimaginative party hack who would eat dog food in a Wal-Mart parking lot if the president told him to. As if kissed by the gods, Reid's chamber was made filibuster-proof when the courts counted every crayon-scratched vote for a guy from Saturday Night Live and turned him into a senator.

Good times, right?

They’re projecting their own racist attitudes and using them to try to shut down honest criticism of obama and the lib dems big spending policies and their trying to enslave us to their health care.

And the world’s leaders are watching this pathetic disaster unfold....and more importantly, they see a Congress that is doing NOTHING about it. It would be interesting to be a fly on the wall in Beijing, or Moscow, political chambers listening to the talk.

This issue of racism is a red herring.

Besides, the last Republican racist was David Duke and the he was sent packing. Never known any conservative racist.

But there are plenty of black racists around today. You can find a whole bunch sitting in the US Congress.

Well, All this race calling is truely a sign of weakness. They would get slaughtered in the next election. This is all about giving congress cover for there ambition. What really got them scare is the President has not told the truth about this whole mess. Joe Wilson would be shot if we lived in a different country. The rally on 9-12 has them scared because the numbers were incredible. I would have love to have been there but had to work. There were 1 millions more that would have like to have been at the rally but could not make it!

One of the best signs I saw in DC on Sat. said, "No matter what this sign says you are still going to call me a racist." So prophetic. I am also pretty sick of it. What do we all have to do, get 2 foot tall bumper stickers that say "Proud Racist"? It is getting pretty damn threadbare.

I don’t get easily offended. But at long last I am viscerally offended by this “R” word...racist. I actually feel it in the gut because it is so unfair, so untrue, so obviously used as a tool. If someone ever calls me that they will have to take it back or I will not speak to them again. I am THAT offended by it.

The purpose of the race card is simple. Negate accountability.
