Well, at least someone has found some good news in these nerve-wracking days of watching President Obama walk us ever closer to an economic precipice. In a very funny piece at the American Spectator online, Ben Stein rapturously thanks the president for reviving a party, the GOP, that many had left for dead.
How has he done it?
By naming men to office so wildly irresponsible, so extreme in their positions, so vulgar in their means of expression, that they have made the Republican Party regain its of gleam of gentility and good graces. I am not talking only about the tough guy/ballet dancer Rahm Emanuel, who screamed like a jilted drunken sorority girl at GOP leaders after Joe Wilsons outburst (itself a disgrace) last Wednesday night.
By proposing a national health care plan so wildly extravagant, incomprehensibly complex and over the top that it makes President George W. Bushs budget gaffes seem like blips
And so on. Read the whole thing here.
A few times Ive noticed the Telegraph get negative about the GOP. Recently a leader writer called it rudderless. But that was yesterday. Everyday the opposition looks stronger. The big news about the GOP, in fact, is how many attractive young and youngish go-getters seem, as they say in baseball, to be warming up in the bull pen. I was struck by this as I watched the presidents speech to congress last week and as my eye passed over one potential star after another. There was Wisconsin representative Paul Ryan, Virginias Eric Kantor and Jon Kyl, senator from Arizona. Out in governor land we have Minnesotas Tim Pawlenty, Louisianas Bobby Jindal, and of course Mitt Romney (a former governor).
Remember these names. They may yet save us all

I guess Sarah Palin doesn’t count, even though she is the one in 0’s head, unlike, say, Romneycare.
Oh BARF!
Maybe the "attractive" is from her female point of view... but this is a transparent RINO-pusher article. "Of course Romney..." my a&&. Ryan, Kantor and Kyl are ok, but they are neither stars, nor are they our "saviors". And Jindal and Pawlenty... don't make me laugh. They may be decently conservative (at least Jindal), but are two yawners with no moxie or starpower.
The glaring omission of Sarah Palin, who truely fits the bill of a young, attractive, Conservative star who could (and is) challenge the Olbamao, reveals the ridiculous RINO agenda of the Brit author.
Darn, messed up again! The top guy is Mike Pence and the other is Ryan.
Only RINO’s need to reply. Where are all the conservative Republicans???
Yes, as sad as it is...I suppose we do need image with conservatism.
Well the other side has a face to their party too, aging hippies, radical blacks and as one freeper put it, botoxicated women. :)
