Columnist Ken Blackwell wrote an Op-Ed in the Washington Examiner demonstrating even someone as enlightened as Charles Krauthammer can make mistakes. Governor Palins Death Panels are very real, they sadly exists for our Veterans and are a necessity in every government run health care system around the globe.
Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was ordered out of the room by leading conservative columnist Charles Krauthammer, who is a medical doctor -- a rarity in the world of pundits.
Krauthammer said Palin's comments about "death panels" in Obamacare were not helpful in a serious debate on the government takeover of health care. But then Dr. Krauthammer wrote that the result would only be a "gentle nudge" toward that hooded figure in the corner of the room, that grim fellow with the scythe. Hmmm. Maybe we should invite Palin to come back in.
I sincerely believe that the good Mr. Krauthammer, being the good NEOCON that he is, has a real problem with Sarah, because she is a Moral Conservative strongly against Abortion and Gay Marriage. I further believe, like most Neo Cons this causese the NeoCon to either belittle and despise the person or it just isn’t a really big deal to them.
Charles has a problem with Palin, and I believe it is called insidethebeltwayitis. Many good men have been plagued with this unfortunate malady.
Despite that fact that Palin is one of the finest examples of people who have been devoted to the same principles as Charles, he for some reason continues to criticize her. Must be the lack of ivy league pedigree.
Yes, yes, and yes!
I think Chuck is a misogynist.
He doesn’t like her because she’s not one of the insiders. I like her even more because she’s not part of the establishment.
Ironic, isn't it?
Chalk one up in the Sarah Told’ya So column.
That’s irony for you. You mentioned that a diving accident was the source of Krauthammer’s chronic health issues... what’s the story there? I always wondered what had happened to him.
It might also be MD-itis. Medical school graduates, even when long out of practice, never fully relinquish the idea that they have revealed truths and insights given only by God, and they jealously guard the sacred flame in the temple from outsiders.
Krauthammer knows goddam well, as does any doctor, that death panels exist and meet on a regular basis at any transplant center in the country. Today. Now. The only beef is that the elitists prefer a more genteel euphemism for these anonymous panels--"death panel" is so--well-- so unseemly.
My respect for Krauthammmer went down a whole order of magnitude--permanently-- for this attempt at blowing smoke up people's asses.
Krauthammer had a diving accident his first year of medical school at Harvard...

LAMB: What year did you have your diving accident
KRAUTHAMMER: 1972. I was a freshmen in medical school in my first year and ended being hospitalized for a year and two months. But since it happened at Harvard Medical School, in one of the swimming pools of the hotels at the complex, I ended up doing my year-plus stint as a patient in Harvard teaching hospitals so that I was able to do my second year of medical school in the hospital as a patient
Even though I wasnt able to attend any classes, Id study at night. And they were very good at having the professors tutor me at night. Then I rejoined then I was released from the hospital, I rejoined my class for the third year. And then I graduated a year later.
LAMB: I dont know about if you mind telling the story, but what happened in the diving accident.
KRAUTHAMMER: Very simple, I hit the bottom of the pool with my head and it caused no injury except a breaking of the spinal cord.
LAMB: And you spent and how long in the hospital
KRAUTHAMMER: Two months.
LAMB: What the reaction to that when it happened to you, I mean, during that time
KRAUTHAMMER: Well, being a medical student and that week studying neurology, which was rather ironic, the book I had with me when I was hurt was neuro-anatomy. I knew exactly what happened the second it happened. And I knew exactly what the consequences were and I knew what the future was. And I think that was a help to me, because I never had any illusions.
And a lot of my the bedmates I had on the wards where I was had a lot of illusions. And I didnt have them, which I think was useful. So I knew you had two choices, you could give up or you could just pretend it hadnt happened, or do you everything that you could to.
And what I resolved is I would never I would try never to let it change my life, or change the direction of my life. The irony is that Id intended to a psychiatrist, which is about the one that and the radiology was about the only thing I could do. And thats what I wanted to do, so I went ahead and did it. http://www.q-and-a.org/Transcript/?ProgramID=1021
unfortunately for him I doubt he gets to enjoy the company of women as most men in relationships do and could be bitter...I would be I reckon too
but he is also pro abortion rights and anti-guns rights to a degree
and is not ‘xactly a social conservative by any stretch
that said...he has a tough wheelchair bound life and complications aforementioed that would be hard on anyone and he does fairly well in spite of that even though he is wrong on some key issues
contrast that with fellow NeoCon the dandy William Kristol who loves Sarah Palin like we do.....my wife thinks Kristol is cute
actually he has a lovely talented wife - and having met him, speaking as a woman, i can tell you he is quite charming, witty around women, and hardly bitter.
the fact that he has a wife...i knew that actually ..does not refute that supposition
but since you have met him and his wife and don't think he is a misogynist I will take your word for it
this may be the first time in my life I have attempted to explain someone's use of that particular word I normally eschew
My respect for Krauthammer went away --permanently-- when he blow smoke up obamas after the second presidential debate...giving obama credibility with independents, etc.
Gas bag...blow away, please.
I believe he’s an intellectual snob.
Palins aren’t good enough for him because she didn’t go to an Ivy league school.
The Ivy League Presidents of the past 20 years have given us an $11 Trillion dollar debt.
My question to any who challenges Palin’s education cred. is: How can Palin be any worse?
Krauthammer befriends his sociopath because he
believed it would be reciprocal.
Instead, Krauthammer would be exterminated by Obamacare,
except that Harvard will give him special care.
Krauthammer is another Ivy League elitist, he’s always been that way, no reason to go gah-gah over his ilk, they’re everywhere in the beltway, sort of like...RATS.
I wholeheartedly agree with her stepping down as governor. She can take pot-shots at B.O. and crew whenever she sees a clear target. So far she's pointing out the Emperor's non-clothes very effectively. B.O.'s latest speech had to directly address her attack. He can't win by defending. Go Sarah!
