Conservatives cant deny the courage, conviction and effectiveness of Glenn Becks crusade against the Progressive movement and corruption in our nations capital. Glenns efforts have emboldened many to stand tall and fearless for traditional America. Beck single handedly got a wacko communist to resign his position as Green Job Czar a position that existed solely to perpetuate the greatest scam in world History. The recent acorn unraveling is due, in no small part, to the inspiration and cover Glenn has provided the heroic; Andrew Breitbart, James OKeefe and Hannah Giles (hubba hubba).
However, as events unfold at a rapid pace, the God Father of Conservatism has weighed in with a note of caution. On his 9/14/09 program, Rush Limbaugh addresses, what he deems, a troubling theme emerging from the Tea Party movement.

Of course the deck is stacked against a third party. The Republican Party would have to dissolved the way that the Whig Party did after 1854 with the new party getting a substantial part of the old. Could not win in 1912 and might not win in 1916, unless the Democratic Party also fragments.
the tax and spend GOP isn’t all that great
its better than the communist left though
I agree that the two party system is the way to go, but the Republican party needs to get a spine.
Every setback the dems have had this year hasn’t been because of the republicans in DC. They have been bystanders, just watching from the sidelines.
agreed, it is time for the GOP to wake up and pave the road for true Rebulicans and not endorse the RINOs early in the primaries. If this does not change, people will jump soon.
The best thing about Beck is he calls it like it is...a Republic!
The same thing that pulls the democrats leftward also pulls the republicans. Conservatives have wrested control of the party away from the entrenched country club/eastern seaboard RNC wing twice before and nominated Goldwater and Bush.
Maybe we can do it again, maybe not. But I get tired of reclaiming the same ground over and over again.
The only way we will keep conservative control of the RNC is to move it’s headquarters far away from the NY-DC corridor of corruption.
I haven't thought that Glenn was advocating a third party, just that we clean up this one.
I thought he was clear today on his program that he is not advocating a third party.
They did make one contribution, by rejecting the “stimulus.” Nothing anyone can do about the likes of Snowe, or McCain, for that matters.
Add to that your BS comment about Rush being "troubled" by aspects of the Tea Party.
“Why did you post this divisive commentary of yours twice?
Add to that your BS comment about Rush being “troubled” by aspects of the Tea Party.
“Rush Limbaugh addresses, what he deems, a troubling theme emerging from the Tea Party movement.” “
Agreed. This is the second posting of this non-story, opinion piece trying to pit Beck against Rush and FReepers against each other.
Divisive? We arent libs. We should be able to have a conversation about two DISTINCTLY different takes on what is going on.
Glenn: They all most go. The system is corrupt and has affected both parties. We need refounders.
Rush: This is a Republican V. Democrat issue. The everyone must go mentality may lead to a 3rd party movement.
I am HUGE supporters of both men. But, Rush and Glenn seem split on this issue, as am I.
I posted it twice because I forgot to add a link to the entire article. So very sorry
Okay, then document from the Rush transcript where Rush says he is troubled by themes emerging from the Tea Party movement.
Why would he address this if he wasn’t concerned or didn’t sense something similar to 92 and 96...
“I know that a third party isn’t going to win diddly-squat. But, I am prepared for the next two to four years for some of you out there to hate me and despise me because of this. Because I’m well aware of the anti-Washington sentiment that exists and the desire to just throw the whole thing into the Potomac River and rebuild it. It does have to be rebuilt but you’re never going to throw it all in the Potomac River. And if you discount the role of Barack Obama in ginning up all this passion that’s leading to the protests, if you want to try to equate the Republican Party to what this radical bunch of leftists is doing, you’re going to have a tough time convincing me that there’s any similarity.”
Third party NOOOOOOO....remember Ross Perot.
