Of course the deck is stacked against a third party. The Republican Party would have to dissolved the way that the Whig Party did after 1854 with the new party getting a substantial part of the old. Could not win in 1912 and might not win in 1916, unless the Democratic Party also fragments.

Despite all the excitement around Beck, and his call to fumigate Washington, Conservatisms only viable medium for expression is in the Republican Party.
Or
Maybe Glenn is right?
You're damn right Glenns's right; and Republicanism is not Conservatism.
I'll be voting for Ron Paul - whether or not he runs as a Republican.

The best thing about Beck is he calls it like it is...a Republic!

The same thing that pulls the democrats leftward also pulls the republicans. Conservatives have wrested control of the party away from the entrenched country club/eastern seaboard RNC wing twice before and nominated Goldwater and Bush.
Maybe we can do it again, maybe not. But I get tired of reclaiming the same ground over and over again.
The only way we will keep conservative control of the RNC is to move it’s headquarters far away from the NY-DC corridor of corruption.

Why did you post this divisive commentary of yours twice?
Add to that your BS comment about Rush being "troubled" by aspects of the Tea Party.
"Rush Limbaugh addresses, what he deems, a troubling theme emerging from the Tea Party movement."

Third party NOOOOOOO....remember Ross Perot.

I think Rush's point was that the GOP is no "Democratic Party". I would agree that the RATS are corrupt to the bone, but the GOP had its issues and got run out of town in 2006. Denny Hastert ran the biggest good ol boy network filled with pork, earmarks and PERSONAL enrichment for House Members and friends.
If the GOP thinks they are going to pull victories in 2010 just because they are not RATS and return to its good ol boy network, they are sadly mistaken.
