Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will host an Iftar dinner to celebrate the Holy Month of Ramadan on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at 7:15p.m., in the Benjamin Franklin Room at the U.S. Department of State, Washington, D.C.
The Holy Month of Ramadan is a time devoted to worship, contemplation, charity, and fellowship, observed with a daily fast from sun up to sun down. At the end of each day, Muslims traditionally break the fast with a meal known as “Iftar.” Ramadan is the month Muslims believe the Qu’ran was revealed to the Prophet Mohamed; it is a month of reflection, generosity, and compassion for more than a billion Muslims worldwide.
Secretary Clinton will make remarks at approximately 7:45p.m.
The remarks are pool-press-coverage for cameras and stills and open-press for writers.

Iftar with the Clintons- what could be better? Except maybe festivus with the Costanzas
Considering that Clinton is the Secretary of State and we have boots on the ground in two Muslim countries, I don’t consider this event inappropriate. “Who’s on the guest list?” is what I am left wondering.
What will the do when the satanist request dinner or Asatru (norse gods) or the voo doo religions or native americans sweat lodge in the rose garden, they should all be allowed now.
