The Acorn Mission Statement as posted on their web site:
The Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) aims to organize a majority constituency of low- to moderate-income people across the United States. The members of ACORN take on issues of relevance to their communities, whether those issues are discrimination,........ACORN believes that low- to moderate-income people are the best advocates for their communities, and so ACORN's low- to moderate-income members act as leaders, spokespeople, and decision-makers within the organization.
That last line...the one about leaders, spokespeople, and decision makers? That's shaping up well for them. As we've recently seen on Fox News from the video clips released by film maker James O'Keefe, along with partner Hannah Giles. What leader, what spokesperson, what decision-maker from a tax funded organization would advocate government funded prostitution along with underage sex with minors that were illegally brought into the country? ..........
.........Why is it that President Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and now ACORN all suffer from credibility issues with the American people. Do Republicans have a George Soros hiding somewhere in the closet? Are they so powerful they can effectively make or break politicians and destroy organizations? The last time I checked, we lost the White House along with both houses in Congress, not exactly good indicators of power. The truth is Liberals hold nothing but contempt toward those who don't share their views and that breeds a sense of arrogance. Their own arrogance is leading them down this path and their own destruction. They refuse to see or even admit to the obvious, even when it's on film before their very eyes. “Eyes wide shut” I believe is how the saying goes and I believe America has her eyes open.

I’ve been involved in the development of mission statements for many organizations and that is the lamest I’ve ever seen.
