Maybe somethings up with the Internet ... I can only get a small selection of the usual sites I go to, but fortunately Free Republic is one of them.

Or, it's the only DNS entry left in your local cache.

Try using OpenDNS. I've found that ISP's default DNS servers are hopelessly overloaded.

I feel your pain. :)

My computer has Vista also. It couldn’t completely load ANY webpage and if I had more than 2 tabs open it couldn’t download anything. I didn’t know if it was the new version of Mozilla or the “crucial” Vista updates.

Anyway, last Friday I lost my temper and beat the crap out of it...destroyed the hard drive and broke the motherboard in half.

Now I’m using a 10 yo laptop that I downloaded Safari on and it’s working surprisingly well.

Free Republic must be a SuperPage

I think it's just the opposite ... it's a simple site without all the insane gizmos.

Cruising along with Ubuntu 9.04 on an old machine and FireFox 3.0 - no worries.

Windoze - reboot early, reboot often, give it lots of memory, and always have your virus protection up to date.

I am having that problem too. Only a few sites that I can go too.

Obama must be goofing with some switches.

FWIW, I am on Time Warner in San Diego.
