Oliver Stone is Dumb

Reuters reports: ”Director Oliver Stone says the U.S. media and government have demonized Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez and other leftist South American leaders, and argues in a new film that they were right to stand up to Washington.

Chavez, who landed in Venice for the film’s premiere, has earned a reputation for his outspoken criticism of U.S. policy, and in Stone’s “South of the Border” he is sympathetically portrayed as a hero of the people who refuses to be bullied.[…]

Stone said he had been in talks with Iran to make a documentary about President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad but that scheduling on both sides had prevented it.”

It pains me to see that guys like Stone and Michael Moore are incredibly rich. Oh hey Stone! How is it you made so much money? Ah yes, free speech in America, that’s what I thought. However, if you live in a country such as, say, Venezuela and made a movie against the country… well, you probably won’t see that film hit the theaters, you might just find yourself in a nice, cold cell.

Hey United States, we should be embracing Chavez. I mean look at Venezuela, it’s the pinnacle of living. The government tells you what to do, the media/government tells you how to act. Their awesome price controls make some sweet food shortages. And we all love big oil, what bigger than government owned oil!

I am not saying this type of movie should not be created, I am simply stating Oliver Stone is an idiot (along with Michael Moore). I would like them to name successful countries where individuals with the same thinking such as Chavez have been in power. Then, with that list (or lackthereof) fit themselves into the country their style of movies would allow them the same success
