Pawlenty: Governor Palin A Remarkable Leader
Governor Palin 4 President ^

(CNN) Minnesotas Republican Gov. Tim Pawlenty, who was a contender for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, said Sunday that he does not view himself as being in competition with his partys most recent vice presidential nominee, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Asked about his own 2012 plans, Pawlenty was coy and judicious, suggesting that his recent travels to many states likely to be important in the next White House race were because of his duties as the vice chair of the Republican Governors Association.

Pawlenty is smart to praise her. What’s the feeling on him here? I was in Minn. last year and a few libs I was associating with hated him.

I’m not from Minnesota, but IMO he is ok, but has no mettle.

I live in MN. MN is one of the deepest blue states of all, probably only 2nd to Massachusetts. For a republican to get elected governor is not that unusual, but they are all democrat lite. It was only after the election, when he saw which way the wind was blowing, that Pawlenty started turning social and fiscal conservative.
The day after the convention last year, McCain and Palin appeared at a rally in Blaine, only about 15 miles from Minneapolis, but Pawlenty didn’t even bother to show up. He said he had pressing business to attend to in Duluth. He was PO’d that he did not get picked for VP, and did very little afterwards to promote the ticket.

Also, Pawlenty is the governor that wanted to make Minnesota the "
Saudi Arabia of renewable energy. If THAT is the best Republicians can do at the national, I'll do my shopping elsewhere thank you.

If Mrs. Palin declares her intention to seek the Presidency in 2012 the GOP primaries will be but a matter of formality as she would undoubtedly be chosen as the nominee. She then, I'll say with confidence, go on to defeat the Marxist shoeshine boy with Reagan-like electoral numbers.

Here’s the thing why Pawlenty isn’t popular among conservatives: He doesn’t have the charisma and passion. Conservatives in 2012 are going to support someone who is bold and is proud to convey the conservative message. Pawlenty might not quite be a RINO, but he’s uninspiring.

Pawlenty thinks Plain won’t run in 2012. So he is praising Palin in hopes that the Palin fan club will endorse him as the anti-Romney candidate.

I wouldn't count on it. Unless we close the primaries, liberals will flock en masse to vote for a RINO. The media will push another McCain and build some faux conservative up in order to split the base...just like last time.
Close the primaries, close the primaries, close the primaries.

I view her as a friend. And I think shes somebody who has been a remarkable and strong leader in Alaska under difficult circumstances. I dont know what the future holds for her. Well, I'll gladly prefer comments like these over the usual misogynistic and condescending comments we are often treated to when reading opinions about Sarah. :-)
To: yongin
Pawlenty knows that if Palin runs in 2012, he doesn’t have a chance, so he may be positioning himself for VP.
