As criticism of the President's national address builds his administration is still refusing to release the text of his comments to be made on Tuesday. As a result, it is becoming increasingly clear that the White House is likely to tone-down the contents of his speech in an attempt to embarrass President Obama's political opponents.

On Tuesday, it is likely that the President will have abandoned his original plans to inject his social agenda into the schools, by instead giving a non-controversial speech centering upon how great this nation is and how "cool" it is to study. When the speech ends, the mainstream media will publish story upon story as to how ...

Not going to work. To most people this is obviously a case of “you’re just sorry you got caught” on the 0 part.

I seriously doubt that. He's had many chances to play the Bill Cosby and rejected every one of them.

There are too many copies of the so-called “lesson plan” floating around to make this believable. He can tone it down NOW, but it’s too late.

So he’s admitting that he’s using children for propaganda purposes.

Great. Typical dictator of a banana republic or African, Marxist-run nation.

doesn’t matter what he says now, the issue’s always been a trifecta. one, the captive audience thing, two, the praise-dear-leader type study guide, three the content of the speech, which of course would be political..save the planet, be green, would’nt it be nice if we all had health care etc.

I don't care what he hopey, changy wants to do. The bottom line is he shouldn't be giving this speach to a captive underage audience. It smacks of 1984.

He can tone it down all he wants...we KNOW, based on the follow-up questions that he suddenly dropped, what his intent is and I’ll bet he still won’t be able to help himself from saying something about community or national “service”, global warming, etc.

What does the GOP have to do with any of this? They do a good enough job of embarrassing themselves without Zero’s help.

Obomba embarrasses himself and the United States every day he climbs out of his over sized bed.

It will be the president who will be embarrassed, as people ask why he’s wasting school time with a very pedestrian speech? Similar to what the networks have been asking about the last two or three primetime addresses.

I agree. If he does issue a benign "speech" it will be testimony to the effectiveness of grass roots reactivity.

If Obama has any sense at all, he has someone in the White House charged with the responsibility of keeping tabs on the real political atmosphere. Despite the false front baloney spewed by the ideologues, the ruling cabal needs realistic appraisals, to be able to adapt their tactics to the facts on the ground.

That person whoever it is, is probably not very popular right now.

“Obama hopes to embarrass GOP with toned-down “school” speech”

Again they go after the straw man of the “GOP” when it is NOT the “GOP” standing against them, it is the American people.
