A friend of ours sent us this article from RedState just now, and we had a good discussion about it. Its commentary on David Brooks column in the NY Times, where Brooks argues Democrats really and truly are committing political suicide, since the White House and Congress believe America is The Huffington Post. Brooks says Democrats will try to ram Deathcare through using every trick in the book, even if only 35% of the country identifies as liberal and supports this. Brooks predicts a massive backlash against the White House and Congress in 2010.
One of the comments on this RedState article says Dr. Utopia will be down to the 30s in approval ratings by Christmas, and that September is going to be a brutal month for liberals.
We feel Dr. Utopia will be in the very low 40s by Halloween, definitely but the REALLY brutal month for him is going to be the four weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Why?
(1) People out spending money will realize how little money they have left to spend and they will wonder where their hope and change are
(2) During the holiday season, people will gather together. There will be discussions things will get into politics. Everyone will wonder where their hope and change are. Those who didnt vote for Dr. Utopia will get to say Told YA SO!
(3) Heating bills will start rising soon and will be BRUTAL in November-December its going to be a bad, bad winter, folks. If you arent saving up for the gas bill now, you need to start today. Were expecting our bill to rise to the $200-300 range for Buzzquarters this winter. We have friends with large homes who pay $800 a month for heating during the holidays. This is going to have an impact on the publics perception of how things are going in this country. It always does but this year, its going to be colder than weve experienced in a while and people will mock the Democrats for all of that talk about global warming. Dr. Utopias going to take a big hit on all of this.
We have no idea how low Dr. Utopias numbers will go, but also cant see how he breaks this trend and pumps the publics opinon back up. It doesnt seem like he can avert a real disaster by Christmas.
What think you?
Wasn’t GW Bush” lowest poll 37%?
that 401K gets turned into a 40.1K
Love it!
Hey, this guy is so far gone, his only hope is to talk to school kids to see if they’ll believe his policies. How PATHETIC is that? I mean, really, pitiful.
Probably impossible. Unlike Bush, he enjoys a steady 96% of the black vote which is about 15%. Add Hispanics and he has a solid floor to build on.
Dr. Utopia!
ROFL!
Good article but I don’t follow the part about big heating bills this winter. Natural gas prices have collapsed down to around $3 lately so heating bills shouldn’t be any higher than last year. I don’t think anyone can predict whether this will be a colder winter than usual. But I like the rest of the article and agree that people will be talking politics over the holidays. I’m amazed at the lack of qualifications and the dubious character of some of the people the administration has put into high level positions.
Well, yeah, but after 8 years. We’re barely talkin’ 8 months with this zero.
A consequence of the entrenched racism in Democrat politics.
My liberal friends are now criticizing the overtaxation of tobacco, remarking that if tobacco wasn’t so constrained, more people would die by their 60s and 70s, so they wouldn’t have to be provided healthcare when they reach their 80s. Go figure.
Dr. Utopia is clever but I prefer Dr. Feelgood, i.e. “I know you need that bypass surgery Granny but don’t those pills I prescribed make you feel good?” They both signify the same thing: useless looters trying to get something for nothing by taking from the most productive of society!
Look at the report by Wegelin & Co, the oldest private bank in Switzerland (http://www.wegelin.ch/home/aktuell.asp), about investment prospects in the U. S.:

“Good article but I dont follow the part about big heating bills this winter...I dont think anyone can predict whether this will be a colder winter than usual.”
Agreed 100%. It was certainly a disgustingly cool and rainy summer (I mean how cool was it if I’m complaining?), but that saved people money. I doubt that means the winter will be colder than usual.
Several statistical studies have proved that tobacco deaths are actually a boon for Communist pay-as-you-go retirement systems such as Social security, and all the more so when they are bound to health “insurance” organs.
Grand Mufti of Chicago will be in the low 20s by Xmas.
How dare you speak in such terms of a chieftain from the Luo tribe?
Yup, gonna' be a bad, bad, bad winter!
The Obama administration is like the “clunkers remorse” some one feels when the new car smell is gone and Rover just left you a “present” on the back seat!
