Open thread on ObamaCare

Today I read and listened to quite a few liberal blogs, rags and radio and they all seem to say the same thing, they see nothing but manufactured, fake, confused conservative mobs against health care. We’re out to besmirch their Messiah. We have been activated by the GOP to to heckle politicians at Townhalls.

We have been labeled Right wing extremists, domestic terrorists, Nazi’s, AstroTurf and Un-American by the liberal majority. We have been labeled tea baggers and silly by the main stream media.

So my question is this: What are our concerns and what do you think if ANYTHING should be done to the health care system in this country?

Here’s a novel concept - do nothing. Or better yet, take steps to bring down the cost of doing health-related business brought on by lawsuits.

And speaking of lawsuits, when the government takes over health care and something goes wrong, where will you go for redress of grievances? You can’t sue the government. They’ve made damn sure of that.

they're gonna reduce the debate to cost. It's going to be the high-and-holy "we must do right by the taxpayer" bullshit once again.

It is not an economic issue. It is a moral issue, and the moral argument decimates the cost argument. They lose this debate on moral grounds. That's why they want to talk about the cost.

The government should offer a 100% federal income tax rebate to any primary care doctor who is willing to work on a 100% cash only basis. This would remove all third party price distortions that drive up costs. Doctors could cut out all the bureaucracy that has to deal with the government and insurance companies. The price of routine medical care would drop like a rock once the free-market took over. Insurance would only be needed for catastrophic medical problems.

Don't ask me I'm too busy conveying the idea that it's getting rammed through in a thoughtless fashion and will destroy the greatest health care system ever known, so I'm just a, as labeled, right wing extremist with a political agenda to stifle the POTUS because of personal racial attitudes with a major right wing political organization behind me pumping BILLIONS into the destruction of health care reform because I want America to fail. /s

(just ask Nancy the Nanny)

This is an interesting point you bring up... you can’t sue the government. Maybe this is the reason why they don’t mention tort reform. Hmmm....

and look, as long as we're ranting, have you ever wondered why obama isn't yanking troops out of the overseas theaters like all his dipshit supporters expected him to? Why isn't the NYT demanding the instant return of all those poor kids who were duped into signing up because they're, well, poor and uneducated?

Is it because he simply wants them away for a while?

Excellent idea! But riddle me this, how long would it before politicians would go after those greedy doctors? Can you say new tax?

Another interesting point but for now, the middle east is still Bush’s war. There was the Pre-election Obama and then President Obama. The 2 have broken promises and contradicted each other since Jan 2009. Truly a joker.

I don’t feel the need any more to ask questions
to any person in government.

It’s time they listen...

1. Close the borders to protect the United States of America
2. No government run Health Care System to protect the
legal citizens of the United States of America
3. Clean up the Fraud and Abuse taking place on Wallstreet.
4. Quite taking our hard earned “honest” money.
5. If you care about the children in the Inner-city school
system (quite throwing money at that problem it does not
work) Start by having role model’s with authority perhaps Army/Navy/Air-Force/Marines to be the childrens
teachers....These men can be the fathers that these kids
do not have....they can demand respect and eventually the
children will be happy to give it...because they will want
to be just like them.
6. Quite making racial divides and causing trouble

Americans unite against too much government involvement -
they don’t know how to fix anything...but american citizens
can and will....
Okay - I just stepped down from my soap box...Peace to all.

Yeah, that would be a problem, knowing politicians.

The primary method of attack against Obamacare should be pointing out that the reason medical care is expensive is government involvement, and that giving the government more control will only make the problem worse.

Republican and conservative leaders (do we have any?) should be front and center explaining why government intervention distorts prices, and that high-quality, low-priced goods and services are available because of the free-market - and that medical care is no exception - if we tried it for once. They should be pointing out all the ridiculous laws, regulations, subsidies that we already have, and their ill-effects.

Health insurance companies shouldn’t be spared either. Should car insurance cover oil changes and tire rotations? Does anyone know what a doctors visit costs? If not how can we make proper decisions? The government should use tax incentives to break the connection between routine medical care and insurance, like I described above. Why should someone who pays for individual insurance not get a tax credit too like those with employer sponsored insurance?

Obamacare must be stopped.

Key: at one time Obama promised (before he won) that the Health Care plan will be the same that will be used by Congress and the President. This being a sort of insurance that the plan will be good.

Well he lied. There is a stipulation in the plan that says Congress and the President do not have to be on the same plan. Well well. It really isn’t good enough for them but of course it’s good enough for “the little people”

You will not have private insurance in the long run contrary to what he says (yes he lied again). If you have private insurance through your employer and you quit your job you must have the government plan not the one you could get when you move to another job. You will be “stuck” with the plan if your employer decides to go with the government’s plan. And on and on.

The other one I heard that is very disturbing is that the plan only allows you $5,000 in coverage. Mean anything pass $5000 you pay for. Meaning only the rich and of course Congress/President deserve to have better care. The elderly and certainly those suffering from Alhzeimers/demential will be allowed to die. With only a $5000 coverage you cannot have broken bones, you cannot have children, and you certainly can’t have bypass heart surgery (80K-90K alone for Hospital and that was in 1996).
Of course Pres. Obama and his family are special and don’t have to follow these rules. Same for people like Pelosi and screams at anyone against the plan—yes Democrats too.

Obama also promised (before being elected) that the plan will not cover illegals (the ones not putting into the system at all). However the plan has very concise wording to insure all the illegals. Having it that good I see no reason why more of them will want to come to the US. They are counted in the Census which is used to determine districts in each state. So guess what? Every state will become over time Democrat and you know what they say about “absolute” power and how it goes to their head. That is exactly what is going on now. Those Nazi or any Dictator symbols e.g. Communist leaders are actually accurate. I’ve heard many times that the Democrat party has been hijacked by Socialists who could not win under that party name. Well it’s time to believe.
