Americas culture is desperately in need of a revamp when Perez Hilton is considered a tastemaker.
Hilton, best known for his vicious celebrity gossip Web site, was labeled a tastemaker and troublemaker in an August 7 article in the Los Angeles Times.
Troublemaker definitely fits. Hilton built his career around, as he told the Times, being a b----. He launched a public attack earlier this year on former Miss California Carrie Prejean for her belief that marriage should only be between a man and a woman. Hilton has also been known to force gay celebrities out of the closet by outing them on his blog. He also has no qualms about posting sex videos or nude photos of celebrities.
But a tastemaker? Hilton is a person who regularly features celebrity photos on his site that hes enhanced with crude drawings of genitalia and bodily fluids. He labeled Prejean a dumb b---- in a video response to the answer she gave during the Miss USA pageant, then went on national television and announced, I called her the b-word and hey, I was thinking the c-word and I didnt say it. Just two months after Hilton found Prejean politically offensive, divisive, and alienating to gays and lesbians for her defense of traditional marriage, he called Black Eyed Peas singer Will.I.Am a faggot, and was punched in the face for it.

No wonder our culture is at a nadir.
This article, along with the Democrat party who have already without proof labelled me as such...makes me want to become a homophobe.
No matter when his photo is taken, he looks like he needs a bath.
actually Miss Hilton would make the perfect Democratic candidate....
oops....thought they were talking about Paris Hilton....both would seem likely Democrat nominees....both doing equal damage to the culture in their own ways.
"Blogging" and cross-dressing is hardly a career.
"Blogging" and cross-dressing is hardly a career.
Good point. At one time, gays were closeted and ghetto rap was underground. Are we better off now that we are compelled to celebrate diversity in every aspect of life?
And what happens to anyone who says anything against this flamboyance and pushing of offensive behavior and musice and lifestyles???? We know the drill - one is accused of “homophobia” and “racism” and God knows what else. The liberal mind is not sophisticated enough to understand that many people are offended by open homosexual displays and obscene lyrics in rap music. That doesn’t make one “homophobic” or a racist. Yet to the simplistic liberal mind, any such criticism is portrayed that way.
And what happened with Miss California shows that you can’t even support traditional marriage without your position being seen as an attack on homosexuals. The way that liberals think about these issues is very twisted in my opinion.
And go on a diet.
