Michelle is Right: America is Mean!
The American Thinker ^ | August 12, 2009 | Kelly Anderson Wright

Last year, when Michelle Obama declared, "America is a mean country," I disagreed. As the white mom of multi-racial children, I knew our country had its share of race problems, but I never would have called America "mean."

Apparently, Michelle's "mean America" comment was simply premonitory. Last year, I was a sweet, naïve, middle class, white Italian-American businesswoman and single mother. This year, I'm a racist, Brooks-Brothers'-suit-wearing, rabid, Nazi, right-wing, political terrorist wacko. How did that happen? And when did owning a Brooks Brothers' suit become a bad thing?

I am a 52-year-old white single mom of Italian immigrant descendants, and before Michelle's husband became the 44th President of the United States, I'd never been called a racist, a terrorist or even a right-wing wacko. My great-grandparents emigrated legally from Genoa, Italy, through Ellis Island, where their unpronounceable last name was changed to "Olcese," the name of the itty-bitty northern Italian town they'd left to pursue the "American Dream." My ancestors traveled west across the United States and settled in California, where every subsequent generation of my family was born. I arrived in Oakland, California, in 1957, at the tail end of the baby boomer generation, born to politically conservative parents. My father, grandfathers and great grandfathers were captains of American industry: they'd all worked hard to become high-level executives in banks or owners of successful companies that bore their surnames. A Brooks Brothers' suit was the best American suit ever made; my father and grandfathers wore them proudly.

The "Brooks Brothers" epithet is a reference to low origin and uneducated pretensions to something better than serf class, i.e. middle class. Intellectual Communists and their lesser-light followers are imbued with European Class identity. You are either old-money aristocrat or you are "in business" i.e. a less than educated, less than intelligent lower class person who has managed to get by on some sort of handicraft or loansharking or selling used cars.

They are also monarchists at heart, even while thinking they believe in the necessity of the Dictatorship-of-the-Proletariat. Note that the Kennedeys are always described since JFK in the terms and attitudes of Royalty and their Descendants as royal princes and princesses who are not really elected to office so much as crowned. Liberals are always a bit uncomfortable with the necessity of going through the motions of election but their subjects always loyally vote the proper Ordained line.

Anything that follows this statement of self is just so much garbage!

The Brooks Brothers suit became a bad thing at the same time the “Don’t Tread on Me” flag became a bad thing - both courtesy of the Democrats.

We’re tired of being slandered. Keep it up, Democrats, and see what it gets you.

Where has Obamababymamma been the last few weeks? Those garden chores must really be time consuming. She's probably with the help down in the kitchen canning tomatoes and stuff. Yeah, right.

“Where has Obamababymamma been the last few weeks? “

I have been wondering that, too. She has been uncharacteristically silent and out of sight.

Obama’s rent lavish farm for Martha’s Vineyard vacation: Michelle, daughters arrive early
By

on August 11, 2009 9:45 PM

WASHINGTON—President Obama and First Lady Michelle and daughters Sasha and Malia will be staying at a posh Martha’s Vineyard farm, the Blue Heron for their vacation, according to the Vineyard Gazettte.

Meanwhile, one of my spies on the island told me there was an unconfirmed sighting of First Lady Michelle Obama and her daughters in Martha’s Vineyard. They are supposed to be coming up in advance of President Obama, who arrives Aug. 23 and stays through Aug. 30.

A few days ago, the three were spotted sightseeing in Philadelphia. Later this week they head to Yellowstone and Grand Canyon National Parks. The girls have been to Europe twice this summer.

(snip)

Well, add me in there for one, that makes at least two of us who believe you haven't read the article and that you are an idiot.

The reasoning is simple. She nails Bozo and his crew down to a T. You seem to only be concerned that she used nice terms to describe herself and then evidently refusing to read further and see what she had to say. What you an idiot, IMO is that not having read it( which is your privilege)and then to comment on it when you haven't read it, makes you an idiot.

Surely, even you can follow that reasoning.
