Sarah Palin Is Pro Amnesty For Illegal Aliens - Univision Interview [Old news, 2008]
Diggers Realm ^ | October 24, 2008

Posted on 08/09/2009 6:56:23 PM PDT by RebelYell1990

Sarah Palin finally came out and made her stance on illegal immigration clear. She is pro amnesty for illegal aliens. In an interview to Univision she stated unequivocally that she is for a pathway to citizenship. In the same interview she says she is against amnesty for illegal aliens. Have your cake and eat it to, I think that is called.

Back on the same day that John McCain chose Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential candidate I started investigating Palin's past on illegal immigration. I invited others to send in anything they found. There was nothing on the record. Many did write in and said that Laura Ingraham said that one time she was talking to Palin and she said she was against amnesty. That was the only statement anywhere that could be found.

Now we know that she is against amnesty, all the while she is for it with a "pathway to citizenship".

You see this is what is wrong with these people. They think they can be on both sides of the issue at once and that simply isn't possible. You are either against amnesty or you are not. If you are for a pathway to citizenship for those who have illegally entered our country then you are pro-amnesty as you have virtually absolved them of all of their illegality.

People have bashed me for questioning "the Palin". They wrote in to say that obviously she is against illegal immigration. This was all wishful thinking and like so many other issues that the politicians have avoided, until they take a clear stance don't assume anything (and even then, if they're only saying it look at their record).

Sarah Palin is in lock-step with John McCain when it comes to amnesty for illegal aliens. Her answers are almost indistinguishable from McCain's, Obama's or even the most pro-illegal alien congressman in the house, Luis Gutierrez, for that matter.

Read it and weep.

Univision

Univision: Governor, let me ask you about immigration. How many undocumented immigrants are there in Alaska? Sarah Palin: I don't know, I don't know. That's a good question.

Univision: As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported? Sarah Palin: There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant - there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants - not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.

Univision: Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants? Sarah Palin: No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They've got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

Univision: To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants? Sarah Palin: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

...

Univision: What is your strategy? How are you planning to win the latino vote? Sarah Palin: I will tell you, I wish that there were more hours in the day so that we can get out there and to more of the communities with such the strong Latino vote that is out there and really tell them that we desire to work for them. We are asking them to hire us and let us work for them.

Sickening we can't find a real leader in this country who cares about Americans first.

Grief goes with the territory when folks like someone and you feel compelled to shed some light on the issue. Wish I didn’t feel compelled to do so.

We wouldn’t have won by electing McCain. That was the problem. Whether you die by 1000 cuts or 500, you’re still dead.

It's also not my responsibility to spoon-feed you information. You already know where to find it, but instead would rather post your own incorrect suppositions.

You are employing tactics of liberal trolls.

No, it is your responsibility, it is your responsibility to back up your claims, otherwise they are only as good as a lie and hearsay. It is not my responsibility to back up your claims.

No, newbee liberal troll, I am not obligated to spoon-feed you like the infantile liberal whiner you are.

You can go read Sarah Palin's FaceBook page just as easily as anyone else. On the left column of the page is a box to select from her posted articles.

Unfortunately, the discussions in the center column of her page are muddied up with vulgar comments from liberal pukes just like you.

Ok, I did your work for you, there is nothing there. I suggest everyone go to her Facebook page to see there is no article there on her opposing amnesty. This guy is full of it

I would not say that without the exact numbers that sat out the Election I have heard more than 10 million then add that to the Paulie Wackos and you have an easy victory.

The statements were from LAST YEAR, when she was John McLame’s running mate. She couldn’t be able to oppose-at least openly-his positions.

“Then you are saying illegals will still remain in significant force even though strict enforcement of current immigration laws will target both the illegals and their employers who are the illegals source of income. Illegals come here to earn more money than they make in their homeland. Most of which they send back to family. Suggesting those who are not captured will remain without any income is ludicrous on its face.”

OK, somehow I missed the part where you decided that the boys would be chasing illegals down the street. All along you have been saying you’d go after employers and the problem would resolve itself. Now you’re going to target “both” the individuals (7 to 20 million) and the employer.

I don’t know how you remove 7 to 20 million workers, all at once, without creating a logistical, political, business, and human nightmare. You insist it’s easy to remove them all and by implication to keep them from returning. Good for you. I think you’re dreaming.

I see, now I’d like to hear what she says now.

If she supports that position I cannot support her.

I cannot currently access FaceBook from within our firewall.

Sarah's article from early July referenced and supported Rep. Young's bill that was being submitted to require AK driver licenses for foreign visa workers to expire on the same date as their work visa. This was to correct the situation where visa workers overstay their visa dates, and have driver licenses that expire at a later date. These were legal visa workers, and became illegal only when their visa expired.

Her statement voicing her support stated something like, "It is wrong for people to be able to legally drive down a street where they cannot legally walk."

Her article also has links to the pertinent AK legislation, which I believe is still working its way through their legislature.

Nevertheless, governors of states are only one branch of their government; they are not dictators.

As far as the supposed "pathway to citizenship" remark during the McCain campaign, that means nothing. We already have a pathway to citizenship for legal immigrants. If Sarah has made any subsequent public statements regarding illegal aliens, I'm certain they are posted somewhere on the internet, either by her supporters, or by the relentless ankle-biters.

Nope, no article. what you are referring to is a twitter where she quoted Rep. Lynn.

Governor’s introduced bills all the time, it doesn’t make them a dictator, the fact is, no bill under her watch was passed prohibiting illegals form getting driver’’s licenses. She also did not crack down on sanctuary cities like Anchorage and Fairbanks as governor.

“We already have a pathway to citizenship for legal immigrants.”

we do, we don’t have one for illegals yet, and we don’t need a pathway for them, we need deportation. Palin is on record opposing deportation and supporting a pathway to citizenship for illegals.

So we don't have a definitive answer yet on what Palin would do with all the illegals currently in the US, if she were president. This does not even imply that she is pro-amnesty.

Tell us whom you do support for president who will "do something" about the illegals in the US. And just what are their proposals?

If McCain would have won, the nation would still have suffered for it. That’s why I didn’t vote for him. The first rule is do no harm. John couldn’t even get the first rule right. No thanks!

Sarah Palin would have had no say in what took pace under a McCain administration. I know a lot of folks voted for John due to him picking her, but I think they were kidding themselves about what reality would look like under a McCain administration.

Even worse, Sarah would have been called on to voice support for all manner of terrible policies under McCain.

The only time he voiced support for her after the election was when she decided to step down. Not one word of support was uttered again those who were taking her to task on legal issue after legal issue.

That’s how much respect he had for her.

Even when asked point blank if he would support her after she joined his team and they lost, he refused to do so.

[Oh, I get it... I’m the only person in America who believes this. Sheesh. Go back to DU.]

Why DU, is that where you hang out?

No you aren’t the only person who believes all illegals should be shipped out, there are probably five percent of the population that agree. I’m just elling you, it will never happen that way short of complete insurrection and a second Civil War of epic proportion. And I’m not sure you wouldn’t be the one deported.
