NO, NO. It’ “What’s it all about, RALPHIE”. Not anyways.
Better than just blending in, imho.
Fair enough. I share your taste for “The Clash” — they wrote “Red Angel Dragnet” and are a decent punk group. “Red Angel Dragnet” is, of course, the Guardian Angels anthem.
At 25 you really are are too young to be in a “punk band” of any meaningful description, because punk was well-and-truly over five years before your birth. Nothing wrong with that, you was just born 30 years too late. In many ways that works in your favor IMO, as you’ll be listening to The Clash 30 long years after I’m gone.
Perhaps too soon for you to be writing your Opus. Like Mcswan said, don’t let the critics get to you.
Now that is a line from an OLD movie....
Such stirring repartee.
If people don’t understand you it really doesn’t matter....unless you make it matter. Don’t take reaction to any of your posts personally.

Oh, honey. When you get a few more years and life experience in you, come talk to us. You’re embarrassing yourself.

Vigi, I hope it comes with virus protection. Great line!
Pandering?
The three most basic rights, what the Clash were referring to although not mature enough in their thinking to realize that “social justice” (i.e. socialism) is not compatible with freedom, are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. Happiness however, is not the government giving you a plate of food, metaphorically speaking providing for you. Providing for yourself and your family, achieving whatever your abilities and work can attain, come from the aforementioned Liberty. The Pursuit of Happiness is “responsible freedom” as it were.
I think the Clash had an admirable empathy for their working class brethren and the downtrodden around the world and an appreciation for the absurdities of politics but like many rebellious artists of the 70’s with whom I think I can count myself, their understanding of the big picture and what it takes to get out and stay out from under the thumb of oppression, was to put it politely, incomplete.
That said I am a big fan of the Clash; Ghetto Defendant, Straight to Hell, London Calling, Lost in the Supermarket, Train In Vain...lots of great stuff I think. I will agree somewhat with my husband who believes that “bad” music like punk opened the door for the advent of no-talent bands and “singers” who are marketed on image alone. Although I think the general dumbing-down of the population has lead to people who are unable to discern substance and talent from style and imagery.
Stay away from the brown acid

Wow, a troll, and one that’s too stupid to know when he’s been caught to boot.
” I wonder if you would have the guts for any real activism. “
Well, let’s see: Why don’t you look up what the local FR chapters are doing before you make more of a moron out of yourself.
“Doubt it highly. “
And that is why idiots like you don’t get far.
You are so certain of your superiority that you fail to see that you’re just not smart enough for this.
Mom’s basement is kinda damp, isn’t it.
“Have fun continuing to be a part of the millions of Americans, who believe that they are informed about world affairs from what CNN gives you.”
See, this gives you away.
We don’t watch CNN.
It’s called Communist News Network for a reason.
“And by the way... I do work.”
Umm.. street corners aren’t work.
That can get you arrested.
“This is so- pointless.”
Yes, it is pointless for you to pretend to be conservative.
Hey, I hear that there’s a guy in Boston who hangs out at Bukowski’s that’d love to hear from you.
Rock on, dude...
