I just wanted to let you know that will be back on the radio from my Alaskan vacation this coming Monday, August 10th for what promises to be an interesting show.
At that time I will tell the full story behind me replacing Sarah Palin as the speaker at the August 8th event at the Reagan Library.
If you live in Southern California you can listen live (11 am-1pm) on 1260 (LA) or 540 (OC/San Diego) am.
If you live elsewhere you can listen via live streaming and programming and archived podcasting.

Her family was only a part. Sarah resigned because she could do so much more for issues she thinks is important to America. Sarah will be fighting to keep America free from the big government tyranny of the Obama adminsitration. Sure, she will be in a better position to defend her family too, but that is not the main reason.
I just went to the Reagan Library website. Nothing is listed for today, August 8. What is he talking about??

She was scheduled to speak at an event in California, for which tickets had been already bought, and she pulled out.
I don’t get her sometimes.
I’d love to see her as the candidate and I’d vote and campaign for her, but she needs to be a little more agressive and stick to speaking when she agrees to speak at an event.

Release Concerning Simi Valley Republican Women’s Event Thursday, July 30, 2009 at 4:32pm
As repeatedly stated to several in the media over the last week, former Governor Sarah Palin is not committed to attend the Simi Valley Republican Women’s event at the Reagan Library and in fact is not attending the event. Neither the Governor’s state staff nor SarahPAC has ever committed to attending this event or speaking at this event, and even requested that the Governor's name be removed from the invitation several weeks ago. The Governor has other work and commitments to take care of at that time. She looks forward to visiting her friends in California soon.
All event requests must be confirmed with Meghan Stapleton of SarahPAC. Additionally, all invitations bearing the Governor’s name must be approved by her attorney before proceeding.

In light of the fact that there are no events scheduled for today at the RR library, that's a good question.
What? When I read that Sarah was to speak at the library, there were posts on the FR thread of commnets that so & so at the Reagan Library said they had to move the venue to the hanger that houses AF1, and that the media was not invited. Somebody thought she was coming. Where is the truth in all this? Very disappointed as I looked forward to reading about her speech anyway. So, is she really scheduled for anything public at all?

It looks like others use her name to sell tickets without her approval. If she is not going to attend, she needs to squash rumors immediately to prevent situations like this. If she is going to attend she needs to decide as soon as possible and not back out unless extenuationg circumstances occur (e.g. sickness). This has happened too many times since November and if it continues it will hurt her future chances.

John Ziegler "toots his own horn" for the same reason Sean Hannity often plugs his books (or the guests scheduled to be on that evening's TV show) so aggressively, and Rush sometimes promotes his upcoming monologue at the top of the next hour...No one ELSE can (or will) do it as effectively as HE can.
And, most of John's listeners (as well as Sean's, and Rush's) put up with this "hype" because we ARE interested in what is being promoting.

Exactly! People are attempting to whore off of her popularity and her attorneys had to put a stop to it.
I think the only people who will be hurt are the ones who say she is speaking when they are told she has other engagements and can’t attend and they keep it up anyways.
Sarah Palin and her family for the past days have been in New York City on business.
Easy to say from behind your computer, you know nothing about me. The attacks on Palin and her family were verbal and financial. If she’s not willing to pay that price, she has no business in national politics.

... but the Simi Vally Republican Women, Federated are in fact holding their 50th anniversary Gala Dinner tonight, as scheduled, in the Air Force One pavilion of the Reagan Library.Governor Palin will not be there, but the dinner WILL still be held.
Well, in the interests of accuracy ... :)
