Interesting poll: 50% No, 25% Yes 25% I Don’t Know.
I voted “I don’t know” because I don’t know what Our Lord would do if He were here today. He certainly surprised the Pharisees of His day, and their expectations of Him were way off.

If Jesus were engaged in His earthly ministry today, He would not frequent bars and pubs to befriend “sinners”. He would frequent bars and pubs to befriend sinners (and call them to repentance).

One of the biggest complaints by the religious leaders of His time was that he ate and drank and spent time with sinners.

Why is the premise that bars and clubs are where sinners hang out?

I think He would hold council outside and engage anyone that came near. He went to visit sinners when invited, He didn’t ‘hang out’ with them.

If the answer is “yes,” does that mean he’d spend most of his time at gay bars (and/or highway rest stops)?

Since we all sinners, He will run into them everywhere he goes.

I'm a sinner. I don't go to bars and rarely drink but there's more to sinning than drinking and going to bars.
If I owned a bar I'd call it "Glass House."

9And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
10And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
11And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
12But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
13But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Remember that little incident at Cana? He waited till everyone was drunk then brought forth the good stuff so they'd get really blitzed.
Jesus would probably pop into the pub for a cold one every once in a while with his friends. I think you'd like Him.

Ya know, some of us go and only have one drink while visiting friends or just relaxing.
It isn’t a sin to be at a bar!

Did the wedding feast at Cana teach us nothing? Jesus always exercised His distinctly American prohibitionist sensitivities.

The question in my mind is whether such establishments of whatever sort existed 2000 years ago. We know that brothels existed even earlier because Rahab was a harlot. We have no record that Jesus ever went near a brothel. But pubs and bars are not necessarily brothels. My thinking is that pubs probably did exist. We have no record that He ever entered one, so I vote that it is highly unlikely.
Just an opinion, high possibility of being wrong.
