A 78-year-old Carroll woman says she's so tired of seeing President Barack Obama on the airwaves that she's selling her television sets - two of them.
Deloris Nissen, a retired nurses' aide and former Kmart employee who was raised on a farm near Audubon, placed a classified advertisement with The Daily Times Herald for Friday's paper.
In the $5.50 ad, Nissen tells readers she has two television sets for sale.
The reason: "Obama on every channel and station."
In an interview Nissen said she is serious about selling two TVs - and genuine about her disgust with what she believes to be an overexposed president.
"I just got tired of watching him on every channel," Nissen said. "I thought, my gosh, does he ever stay at the White House?"

But she's not worried about any criticism.
"I'm an old lady, and I don't care," Nissen said.

I don’t watch much tv, but I am sick to death of hearing his voice on the radio. I’m with this gal.

My wife and I don’t own a TV anyway. There is so much garbage on TV that we just decided to buy the DVDs of the shows we like rather than wasting time surfing for something decent.
With that said, I know where this lady is coming from. Everytime I tune in to the news on the radio, I get to hear his condescending voice lying shamelessly to people. I just change the station until his circus act is through.

When his ugly face comes on the TV, I IMMEDIATELY change the channels. I have no wish to hear his propaganda, or look at him.

Never in our history of cable or dish has the mute and channel changer buttons been so important as they are now.

in Communist Poland the state-run television used to run the nightly propaganda newscast at 6:30. Poles made it a point to gather en-masse and go walking thru the streets at precisely 6:30 to make it clear that they weren’t watching.

She better hope this story does not get any traction, or by tomorrow evening, we will know of the medications she is taking, whether or not she suffers from incontinence, her tax history, any photographic evidence of her association with unsavory characters, her history of political donations and associations, any rumors about her from the age of 8 to 78, her medical history, her video rental history, her driving record, and all the books she took out from the library.
Like that poor woman in Canada whose story was used for health-care ads, the MSM/Left cannot let “hate and regressive political views” be aired without consequences (”the other side of the story”). She should have added the obligatory, “and I voted for him” or somesuch to afford some degree of media absolution for her social sins.
Chalk another one (family of 3 actually) up without TV (cable or otherwise). Have a CRT for DVDs and streamed movies, but _we_ choose what’s on the tube, not some all-Obama-all-channels flunky.
When retired nurses aides can’t take it anymore... The media has overplayed Obama to the point that the average person is getting sick and tired of it. Get ready for the backlash. We have a couple of Ozombies at the fire station. In the evening if they somehow hyjack the TV remote... everyone else goes and reads a book or plays a game or something.
We got rid our our TV over a year ago.
I’ve yet to regret that decision.
Excellent Idea...Except I would miss the History Channel...Their are other things to watch but Barry will probably find a way to encroach on those also....
