Alex Castellanos: Keep Attacking Palin and You Will Become Damaged Goods
It's a Kwazy Life ^ | July 28th, 2009 | Tom Lamb

Posted on 07/28/2009 3:38:02 AM PDT by theanchoragedailyruse

You want to know why the Republican party is in bad shape? It is because the party listens to consultants like Alex Castellanos.

This is the guy that is out there cutting Palin down while telling Republicans to tell Obama to slow down on health care reform.

Slow down to do what? Just slow down? If Castellanos is trying to set himself up for a job with a Republican presidential candidate, he can forget it.

1. Palin will pull in money and chits this 2010 midterm election cycle.

2. Castellanos will continue with the vague general terms with slowing down on health care reform while talking about ideas that can be attacked as old ideas that have been tried and failed.

Or contrary to free market principles.

Because when you look at all the goodies in Castellanos' wish list, many conflict with each other like health insurance being transferred to another employer?

We want to change the law so you can take your health insurance with you if you have to change jobs (eliminating expensive and unnecessary insurance turnover).

Please spare use from your diatribe on how government should let the free market decide when in fact you want to create laws that do what you alleged the Democrats do.

So what you saying that the insurer from a previous employer should be paid by another employer?

Because if what you say were to happen, you would be forcing an employer to pay for an insurance policy that may not fit the new employer's pocket book.

Keep attacking Palin like you just did and see who's political career is grim.

This was your brainchild right? What about RomneyCare? How did Romney do under your brainchild trust?

Capiche Senior.

Alex is a big fat liar. He stated before that he supported Palin in the past, but i found a video of him the first week Palin was selected as VP ripping into McCain’s selection. Typical Romney man.

"Alex Castellanos, Romney media consultant "

"Alejandro "Alex" Castellanos (b. 1954, Havana, Cuba) is a U.S. Republican Party political media consultant who specializes in television advertising, and was a top media adviser to Bush Cheney '04 as well as Mitt Romney's presidential campaign.[1][2]."

"In late February 2007, the Boston Globe obtained a leaked copy of an internal Romney campaign document describing the campaign's plan to win the Republican nomination.[1] That document, produced by Castellanos, drew attention by implying the campaign's poor view of the sitting president.[2] Specifically, the document advised that that Romney should create distance between himself and President George W. Bush by focusing on the separating factor of "intelligence."[1]"

"The plan, which top Romney strategist Alex Castellanos helped to draft, charts a course for Romney to emerge as the nominee, but acknowledges that the "electorate is not where it needs to be for us to succeed."

The McCain/Palin ticket was up 8 pts. days prior to September 18th.
Obama was losing until the DNC played their October surprise on the economy
and the RomneyTeam attacked Gov. Palin and her children to throw Election2008.

David Frum: "Frum was indeed a critic of Palin, calling her nomination a "huge mistake" during an October 13 (2008) Early Show appearance."

David Frum: "Two of our most plausible candidates for president in 2012 are leading Mormons: Mitt Romney and Utah governor Jon Huntsman."

David Frum: "I have a lot of regard for Mitt Romney as a man and politician.
Let me say for the record: If Romney emerges as the Republican nominee, I will support him without qualm."

Late in October, The American Spectator's The Prowler revealed:
"Former Mitt Romney presidential campaign staffers, some of whom are currently working for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin's bid for the White House,
have been involved in spreading anti-Palin spin to reporters, seeking to diminish her standing after the election.
'Sarah Palin is a lightweight, she won't be the first, not even the third, person people will think of when it comes to 2012,'
says one former Romney aide, now working for McCain-Palin.
'The only serious candidate ready to challenge to lead the Republican Party is Mitt Romney.
He's in charge on November 5th.'"
The Prowler added: "Some former Romney aides were behind the recent leaks to media, including CNN, that Governor Sarah Palin was a 'diva' and was going off message intentionally."
The Romney supporters in the McCain campaign had access to internal polling which indicated well in advance of the November 4 election that McCain had no chance to win.
So they began working to position their man Mitt for a run in 2012. Just two days after the election,The Palmetto Scoop reported:
"One of the first stories to hit the national airwaves was the claim of a major internal strife between close McCain aides and the folks handling his running mate Sarah Palin."
"I’m told by very good sources that this was indeed the case and that a rift had developed, but it was between Palin’s people and the staffers brought on from the failed presidential campaign of former Gov. Mitt Romney, not McCain aides."
"The sources said nearly 80 percent of Romney’s former staff was absorbed by McCain and these individuals were responsible for what amounts to a premeditated, last-minute sabotage of Palin."
These aides loyal to Romney inside the McCain campaign, said The Scoop, reportedly saw that Palin would be a serious contender for the Republican nomination in 2012 or 2016, which made her a threat to another presidential quest by Romney.
Erick Erickson, who organized Operation Leper, said:
"Here’s what I think: I think there are some staffers on the McCain campaign who seriously screwed up the roll out of Sarah Palin, to which Governor Palin herself objected.
These staffers are now out trying to finish her off thinking, as typical D.C. types do, that if they don’t do it to her, she’ll do it to them. They just never understood who Palin is or what she is about."
"Likewise, I do think there are some staffers and others who expect Mitt Romney to run again in 2012,
they decided McCain could not win, and decided to undermine Sarah Palin and her chances hoping it would ingratiate themselves with Mitt Romney."

"Who's the Palin Leaker from the McCain Campaign? (Mark Wallace, Romney pimp)
National Review Online The publication of a Vanity Fair profile of Sarah Palin
appears to have opened old wounds in the McCain campaign.
... the source of the “Diva” leak was Nicolle Wallace’s husband."

Who benefits most from Sanford meltdown? Californian (that's right) Mitt Romney

Castellanos is your typical GOP Beltway consultant. He wants clients. For that he needs publicity. To get written about in the MSM, he disses other Republicans.

The MSM use him because he gives them what they want.

The media hates Sarah.
The Left hates Sarah.

The Republican base loves Sarah.

The GOP elites have had to decide which position to take, and they've decided to agree with the media and the Leftists.

Tells you everything you need to know about the current Republican Party.

Ok. That picture is more than a little creepy. Wreaks of the same hero worship that Obama’s nutcases are accused of.

Good point.

[from "Mitt Romney as Tarantino's Superman", New Republic]:

"Whereas most superheroes' secret identities (Bruce Wayne, Peter Parker) are their true identities
--the people they were before their parents were murdered or they were bitten by radioactive spiders
or exposed to gamma rays or what have you--Superman was born Superman.
It's Clark Kent that is the invented alias, the pose, the "costume."
And in the way Superman plays Kent--weak, self-doubting, cowardly--
we can see what he thinks of the human race overall.
It occurred to me that the same is true of Mitt Romney's desperate,
if never terribly persuasive, impersonation of a conservative Republican."

"We face challenging times with some hell-bent on tearing down our nation by perpetuating pessimism and apologizing for America. They suggest that our best days were yesterdays. But how can this pessimism exist? Proof of our greatness and pride is all around us today. We produce proud and great volunteers who sacrifice everything for their country.

"We can resist enslavement to big central government that crushes hope and opportunity. We must be wary of government largesse. It doesn’t come free and often accepting it takes away everything that is free. Melting into Washington’s powerful and caretaking arms will only lead to suck away the incentive to work hard and chart our own course. This will only contribute to an unstable economy and dizzying national debt, and it will make us less free.

"We don’t have to feel that we must beg an allowance from Washington – except to beg the allowance to be self-determined.

"See, in order to be self-sufficient (we) must be allowed to develop, to drill and build and climb to fulfill our promise! We can not start believing that government is the answer. It can’t make you happy or healthy or wealthy or wise. What can? It is the wisdom of the people and our families and our small businesses and industrious individuals. And it is God’s grace helping those who help themselves." - Sarah Palin, July 26, 2009
SARAH'S FAREWELL SPEECH AS GOVERNOR - GREAT READ

Sarah has now initiated her brilliant flanking manuever against the left, the DNC, the MSM and the RINOs that has them all in a frenzy wondering what her next move will be and how it will be perceived...and has them frothing at the mouth in their efforts to discredit her.

Sarah will now get her book out, go on tour, give speeches and promote conservatie principles all over this country in the midst of the Obama administration disaster and gain great political capital in the process. Then she will support conservative candidates in 2010 and help them win, amassing much more political capital. She will then take all of that and make an awesome, stunning run for the Presidency in 2012.

"...like that grizzly guards her cubs, as a mother naturally guards her own. I will keep that vow wherever the road may lead." -Sarah Palin, July 26, 2009

I agree with that. For me, that doesn't represent "our" Sarah in the right way, I know the intentions are good but like you say, it's too creepy for me.

I freely admit it..i'm a Sarah nutcase, and I like the pic.
I don't think it's creepy. I may not make a T-shirt or bumpersticker out of it, but I do like it.
Maybe i'm taking it out of context for some if I say I look at it as Sarah representing Liberty and, like the Lady herself, that Sarah stands as an icon of freedom and patriotism for all true Americans.
But...creepy? No.

Thanks for posting that - very good synopsis of how we got here and what to do about it.

Conservatives have to realize that this is all out war and those who sit home on election day with their nose in the air will get all of us killed - at this point literally as we can see with the attempted health care death sentence.
