MSNBC television host Rachel Maddow yesterday charged that Republicans and conservatives know only one way of trying to expand their political influence – by fomenting and exploiting racial fears and prejudices among their overwhelmingly white base of supporters. (Snip) Said Maddow:
“This is chapter one of the art of Republican politics since Richard Nixon. When surrounded by a more popular opponent [i.e., Barack Obama] whose ideas you can’t necessarily counter or you don’t feel confident countering, steer as far clear as you can of ideas and policy, and instead stoke racial indignation among your base when you can.”

What does this really mean among your base? Does this actually state white base/black base? I do hope Americans of every color you could possibly be do not fall for this type of crap! I have to say I am getting really tired of the Black power, NAACP, and every other committee purposely citing special treatment for black americans, native indians, etc. Damn, I’m an American too! I appreciate all americans and their stories of how they came to America, but Americans today are just that Americans - not white, not black, not african american, indian american, we are Americans.
I have many nationalities in my blood - I’m a mutt! I have Indian blood too... But, I would never apply for an Indian scholarship because I believe that is totally biased against the American people. Come on folks - we need to tell these people to get off their high horses!
Hmmm.. Why did I go off like this? I don’t know - I saw the press conference on Fox and I looked at the different americans standing up on the podium standing behind Sgt. Crowley and I thought - yes, true Americans.
Notice how Harvard has yet to defend Gates.

We detest liberals and nannie state proponents.. Liberals are the ones that keep bringing up race, and want to put all Americans into boxes and and label all of us by color, or by where our ancestors happened to have come from 200 years ago.
But guess what Rachel, we really don't care a lot about those distinctions. We actually believe what Martin Luther King said. We judge on the content of the character; not skin color.
We admire hard work and self reliance; we dislike whining and hand wringing.
Like a bunch of whiney children. This election has been the last time that whites have backed down and simply given the black community what it wants. Now they have it and now we aren’t giving in anymore. Let them rot and suffer in their own messes.
