Palin, Hunter, DeMint, or Pence? Who should be the 2012 nominee?
PA Times | 7/21/09 | Pissant

Posted on 07/21/2009 4:08:00 PM PDT by pissant

I have racked my brain to try to figure out who else should be included on the list of figures that conservatives should support and encourage to run for the 2012 GOP nomination.

Pawlenty? Milquetoast

Mitt? RomneyCare flipflopper

Barbour? Sabotaged eminent domain reform

Jindal? Needs to start shaving first.

Huck? playing his cards right, but can he be trusted?

Newt? Sybil

Perry? Mandatory vaccinations, anyone?

Sanford? Stepped on his John Thomas

However, if Palin, Hunter, DeMint and Pence were to be the choices, then we will have forced the GOP beyond the RINOfest that was 2008, which resulted in the predictable outcome.

Hunter gets my full support if he runs. DeMint is next, then Pence & Palin.

However, it would behoove us to discourage any attempt by the GOP moneymen to force feed us another Rudy McRomney Happy Meal for 2012.

Will talk radio get out in front this time and actively promote the conservative candidates?

I still haven't tuned back in to Hannity after his relentless efforts to convince me that black is white last go 'round.

I would think that any conservative woman would be like any conservative man and vote for the conservative nominee, not Obama (or his temp replacement).

Since elections are who receives the most votes:

Palin draws the crowds and energizes them like the others can’t.
Her message is Conservative and a record to go with it.

I like this recent one.

Earlier tonight, Governor Palin tweeted the following:

Rep.Lynn’s good HB3 Visa/Drivers Lic law:”If u dont have legal right to walk down AKn street, why should u have right to drive same street?”

Myabe she’s coming around. We’ll see when/if she issues a policy on illegal aliens that shows she was just being nice to Uncle Juan when she agreed with his amnesty plan.

My ideal ticket would be Hunter/Palin. He has the beltway experience and a “Cheneyesque” quality about him when it comes to slapping democrats and media around. A true Reagan Republican. Very important is the fact that he wouldn’t knife Palin in the back.

We’ve already seen Palin’s appeal and we know people would vote for the ticket for her alone. She also brings youth, intelligence and a certain conservative populist appeal to the ticket.

Hunter was a joke of a candidate. If DeMint or Pence entered the race, we could at least expect a serious effort on their parts to court donors, gain media exposure, and win key endorsements. Like him or not, this is how Romney went from a negligible presence to a serious contender in a few years, which shows it's a doable path.

Given her high profile already, Palin wouldn't have to worry about this as much, but she would need to do a good job of reaching out to groups that aren't already enamored with her.

No....I’m hoping the next GOP mega-star hasn’t revealed him/her self yet.

Sarah gets her book out, go on tour, give speeches and promote Conservative principles all over this country in the midst of the Obama administration disaster and gain great political capital in the process”

If I were Sarah, I'd make some strategic foreign trips. German chancellor Angela Markel comes to mind. She's conservative, has no time whatsoever for 0bama, and doesn't like him much. Sarah should be seen with her, talking high policy, internatinnal affairs, world economic crisis etc.
Some visits to Russia, just accross the Barings straights and few other other startegic visits to other world leaders should take place as well. Like it or not, the media have painted Sarah as a lightweight in international affairs. She should use this resignation and the free time she now has, to help her erase that impression with the voting public.

Anybody who thinks Palin can win the GOP nomination in 2012 is in denial about how DC politics work.

Personally, I love if she would run, but the powers that run the GOP will have none of that nonsense.

Jindal is the obvious choice for the GOP party nominee .

Non white, southern, young if Obama runs again

Hunter was a joke of a candidate? Did you ever listen to him or looked where is stood on the issues? Or are you one who needs their candidate to have a kind of celebrity appeal? IMHO, an Adult is going to have to come and clean up this mess, especially an adult with some foreign affairs knowledge.

We all have our issues, mine are our sovereignty, liberty and national security. Duncan Hunter is the man for that!

The first thing the Republicans need to do is to discount the primary votes that come from liberal Rino states like New York, Massachusetts, California, — states that they have no chance of carrying in the general election.

I don’t know too much about DeMint but from what little I’ve read he appears to be very solid and I’d be extremely happy with any of the other three. Duncan was my man in ‘08, he just couldn’t get any momentum.

Speaking of Fred (not Jim Thompson). It would be a difficult choice between him or Sarah. But together would be awesome.
