You could of at least mentioned the line is an altered quote from a John Milius[NRA board member] movie called “The Wind And The Lion”.
It did make me smile though.

Nope...but if they do not give him back, then Omar needs to die all the more. That’s all.

You could of at least mentioned the line is an altered quote from a John Milius[NRA board member] movie called The Wind And The Lion.Oh, it goes back a little further than that, to the real-life Perdicaris incident of 1904 where President Teddy Roosevelt stated "Perdicaris alive or Raisuli dead".
To: rlmorel
Agreed. Prayers up for this brave young man. God bless and watch over him...God strengthen him and comfort and strengthen his family and all loved ones.

Actually, I believe it is contemporary version of what was said to the Barbary pirates, “Perdicarius alive or Rasuli dead.”

I think Sec. of State, John Hay, issued the statement for Teddy at the Republican Convention that year (1904) stating “This government wants Perdicarius alive or Rasuli Dead”, the last part becoming the famous phrase.

I know, I know, but...I wasn’t around for the REAL one...:)
Okay, and even though Sean Connery is a wife-beating, drinking Scot, I still like his acting...:)

When the movie came out, there was an article that stated Roosevelt did nothing more than send a telegram. The movie was closer to the truth so you are correct.

Teddy sent seven naval warships and seven companies of Marines in case they were needed to force the issue with Rasuli in 1904.
