They said he walked away.
We should treat this as if the Taliban stole a piece of computer hardware loaded with classified information.
Get it back and then deal with its “retirement”.
No, that is what we should do for a loyal American Soldier.
If there is reason to believe he is a traitor, we should bring him back home safely, if we can do it without endangering any loyal troops. Almost all of our troops would take on danger to rescue a captured comrade, but we should never ask them to do that for a deserter.
Yeah. Allahu Ackbar.
No different than any other traitor whether enlisted or elected.
Plus he is Jane Fondaing us now...
If he didn’t desert than my sincerest apologies...
We need to stop this mamby pamby crap!!!
Nobody knows yet including you, so save that crap until after we get an AMERICAN PRISONER-- someone's son-- back.
OKAY??
UP AGAINST THE WALL YOU TRAITOR! At least he didn’t nurder his former comrades when he converted and deserted.
barbra ann
Yeah that whole “If” thing is a real stumbling block for me too.
He has not been convicted of anything and until he is convicted, he is a US Soldier. We don’t know if the video was made under duress. Under torture, especially the vile kind the Taliban dishes out, you WILL break, no ifs ands or buts.
It is our (The US) job after we get him back to determine his guilt and punish accordingly. It is not the job of the enemy.
ALL the reports said he WALKED AWAY WITHOUT HIS GUN! Going by the news reports!
Because we all know how reliable the media is.
“If there is reason to believe he is a traitor, we should bring him back home safely, if we can do it without endangering any loyal troops. Almost all of our troops would take on danger to rescue a captured comrade, but we should never ask them to do that for a deserter”
EXACTOMUNDO!
I missed that, but I saw Lt. Col Peters talking to one of the Fox & Friends stand-ins saturday morning and they were talking about the F-22. Peters was saying the F-22 program should be scrapped, it’s a waste of money like some other failed weapons programs should have been scrapped earlier. The reporter agreed and said there should be a law against retired Generals working for contracters after retirement. Anyone know if the F-22 program is in that bad of shape?
This is an American soldier we're talking about here, and until facts are in he is a POW and we need to seek his release.
PERIOD.
If you are counting on the media to give you facts and expect a fair shake from them about anything concerning our military then shame on you.
Ditto x10
Running through a few of the comments on this thread, I think we mostly agree. He’s an American and we want him back.
We can deal with any “issues” he may have in our own way.
I think Peters’ wig’s a bit tight. Or maybe it’s all that slick hair gel he’s been sporting lately.
