"If he walked away from his post, and from his buddies in wartime, I don't care how hard it sounds, as far as I'm concerned, the Taliban can save us a lot of legal hassles and a lot of legal bills".......It was even a little too much for Foxnews Anchor Julie Banderas...

He’s still an American soldier in a hostile country and whatever he may or may not have done is irrelevant. He deserves rescue and prayer.
True, but what if he was a traitor American soldier? How does that work itself out?
Exactly. H’s still a US son in enemy hands. Maybe Peters would like to explain his position to the Bergdahl’s family. Maybe he feels the same way about the two American females being held in N. Korea.
Ralph needs to pit a cork in it until ALL of the facts are in evidence.
Really bad form, Ralph.
Dittos Ken.
What if? Nobody knows at this point. All we know is that he is in enemy hands.
We should do everything we can to bring him home safely. Then, if there is cause, we can court martial him. And if the decision were that he needed to be shot, then we would shoot him.
But we cannot ask the terrorists to kill our soldiers on our behalf. That's madness.
Peters: “Nobody in the military is defending this guy, he is an apparent deserter, reports are indeed that he abandoned his buddies, abandoned his post and walked off...On that video he is collaborating with the enemy...He’s lying about how he was captured saying he lagged behind a patrol, Julie I’ll tell you, any 11 bravo infantryman will tell you, that’s not how it works, in a war zone any soldier is aware here of where his buddies are, if it’s a night patrol, you’re sure of where the guy in front of and behind you is, so we know that private is a liar....
“But if he walked away from his post and his buddies in wartime, I don’t care how hard it sounds, as far as I’m concerned the Taliban can save us a lot of legal hassles and a lot of legal bills”
Julie Banderas Responds: “Regardless of what the situation is, we do not want to see any U.S. soldier in harms way, and we hope that this guy gets out of there safely, he’s an American, he’s one of ours”
Agreed...and let’s all remember, he is just a boy. Nobody knows how they will react in wartime. God be with him.
If Bergdahl were my son I would personally seek to kick Peters’ ass.
You bet!
We don’t throw our own to the animals!
Who the hell is thei Colonel Ralph Peters?
If this man deserted, he needs to be rescued. No-one deserves the fate he now faces.
If he deserted (which I’m not willing to accept until it is officially determined) it is still not the enemy’s place to make that judgment or issue punishment.
He decided to sign up for the military and went to Afghanistan...thats a big +, also, he might have to say whatever the H*** he has to, to stay alive, this guys could end up like most others that were captured,-dead
No he isn’t....he;s a TRAITOR, if he walked into the arms of the enemy.
Does anyone know if Barack Obama has uttered a word about this guy?
Those two females are not in the military, and they were in territory they shouldn’t have been in.
